wgraves7582 - 2009-11-15 9:32 AM Afternoon Ghoulies - just a quick stop by before I head to the Y for an elliptical session and aqua jogging.

Run went alright.  I did a 1.2 mile 1min run/1min walk with my run being fast because I read somewhere saying the faster turnover seems to cause less stress on the ITB (but more on the cardiovascular system which they failed to mention )

I rolled it and no big pain there.  So time to loosen it up in the water and back at it on Tuesday!

skrtrnr - 2009-11-15 7:05 AM im contemplating my CHRISTMAS COOKIES this year.

GHOULIE QUESTION:

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE CHRISTMAS COOKIE TO EAT AND/OR BAKE??

[we could have a cookie recipe exchange]

This questions is almost not fair, because there are so many options. I think I'll have to go with Peanut butter cookies with a Hershey's Kiss in the middle. I've been known to put a few of those down in the past

Great to hear Bill! When I was rehabbing I also noticed that a faster pace felt better (on the ITB anyway). Way to be smart about it. Before long you'll be back and better than ever!

afternoon GHOULIES.

went to the Y and bumped into my friend who did the B2B last weekend - first time ive seen her since her race [this is the friend who placed 2nd in the Athena div]

she's STILL BEAMING....and rightfully so!  what an accomplishment.

as for me, because of the inserted day off mid-week, i rearranged my schedule, and i was 'supposed' to run today.  but i knew waking up this morning, after my 2 hr spintacular yesturday, speedwork was NOT in the cards.

in my normal schedule, i had a swim day after my 2hr day, so i just did that instead.

1 mile continuous.

ill hit the speedwork and ST tomorrow.  ill just need to figure out when to get in my 2nd ST session this week...i may split it up and tack on 15 minutes one day, and 15 mins the next.

its all good.

its CRAZY just how many different kinds of Christmas cookies there are, TOM.

my husband does a cookie exchange at work.  its cool.  you bake some many dozen of the same type of cookie, divide them up in dozens, split them up among the participants.

that way you have a dozen of like 10-15 different types of cookies, but you only had to make one type.

Aside from that I swam and got a ride in on the trainer.  I am contemplating a short test run to see how my hip is doing, but part of me thinks I should be overly cautious and rest a few more days.

Good afternoon Ghoulies! I got my 6 miler in today and I feel pretty good. Now if only I had a massage therapist on standby... any takers???

This week is my low-volume running week with a 5k time trial next Sunday. It will be interesting to see how that works out since whatever course I choose around here will be decidedly hillier than the FLAT course where I PR'd. Should be fun.

My next LSR will be a 7 miler the Sunday after Thanksgiving. I'll be in AZ that weekend so I'm hoping it's not too hot. Especially with all the extra Thanksgiving "baggage" I'll be running with.

No ST today, but I plan on getting in a good session tomorrow along with either stationary bike or pool time, schedule permitting.

That's what I was thinking.  It's the off season.  No rush here with no races on the schedule till April.  Might as well take my time and get healed up.
