I've been a slacker over the weekend. My son is visiting from school for the weekend and I've been selfish and spent my time with him. He just left to head back to school. Its a lot easier to say goodbye when I'm not the only one in the house. Now its time to get caught up on some reading and get ready for a meeting, then off to the airport to pick up my wife.

pdbman - 2010-10-11 10:00 AM Hey Joe. Has it cleared up down under or you still getting rain?

Currently fine weather at the moment, however is due to start raining again for the next week if you believe the weather guys.  Lucky I have the man cave set up with the treadmill and the windtrainer for the bike to keep punching out the goals

Its like the whole world was blanketed in rain this last week. I hope the good weather holds out here for a while longer. It won't be too much longer before it'll be too dark to ride outside. I would really like to get a trainer but all my money is going to pay for my son's schooling. Can't even get a basic road bike at the moment so I'm out riding my mtn bike. I just keep telling myself all the conditioning on a mtn bike will make it that much easier when I finally get a road bike.

mbasta - 2010-10-09 3:06 AM Thanks for the luck everyone! I will keep you posted. For now, nap. Get up in one hour, prep for interview and head out! I have so save the preping for the last minute thanks to kitty whose fur gets on everything! I dress and leave the upstairs immediatly when I'm supposed to look nice.

Good luck! Thinking of you!

I hear you on the hair ... glad I never have to look really decent, because I'm basically one giant slobberfurball these days.

Most of my clothes are dark (much of it is black) and I adopted an almost completely white cat... hahaha! I love her and would never regret choosing her - the greatest personality ever but I didn't think about how she would match my stuff.

People say that cats don't care about people... Katsu demands attention from people and loves to be cuddled and played with. She plays fetch better than my parents dogs!

My theory with cats is that you are more of the pet than they are. Everything is on their terms, which isn't a problem with the right cat.

QueenZipp - 2010-10-08 9:49 PM What are the components?  I saw the Schimano rear derailleur but nothing on the other components.

I have no idea, I don't know the first thing about bikes. Let me see if I can find another link with more info.

Overall reviews on the bike weren't all that great.  A bike needs to be able to take a LOT of riding
and not be a demanding piece of equipment other than routine maintenance and cleaning.  Much like a car.

Here's the thing--in the $350 range, that's about the best it gets.  It's not bad, for that. The other thing is I have a feeling
it's not going to get ridden like YOU ride your bikes (do any bikes?)

HOWEVER ... if you anticipate falling in love with triathlon, or riding more than say a few hours a week, you are probably
better off saving your ducats for a better bike. What are you riding now?

A rusty 7 year old mountain bike... Cool

That's fresh out of the box compared to mine. My mtn bike is about 15 yrs old. I'm glad I splurged on it then or there is
no way it would have lasted this long if I had bought a cheap one, which means I wouldn't be doing any tri's.

Got my bike session in.  Updated the spreadsheet, we're behind by 1.7% which isn't too bad so we can still crush the Ghoulies by the end of the month. I figured out when I can make up for that missed bike ride from last week so I should be right on track with my goals by wednesday night.  Off to eat dinner and take a practice GMAT.

Squirrels running full speed?

Maybe the squirrels are off their game a little with all the tuna casserole she's been feeding them.

I swam 1400 yards in 25 minutes.  Is that really ME?  I have never been that fast!  I was working my keester off!

Plus, I brought home a new car today.  2011 Ford Edge.  Pics later, I gotta EAT!

Congrats on the swim and the car. I'll have to remember to ask you how you like it after you've had it for a while. I've kind of thought about looking into one for my next car.

Post 400!

Congrats!!!

Those pretty little pink stars are my favorite and 400 is the only time you get an unadulterated row of them. It's a special time; enjoy it!

Yanti, I think you're going to be at 20,000 before I even get on-line tomorrow, so congrats on the new milestone in advance. You'll have a row of all yellow stars.  Pretty rare. I hope to see it before it gets tarnished with green ones.

So far, LOVE it.  Only wish the sales people did a better job explaining the various features with the Sync thingy.....we couldn't get my phone to sync yesterday so I took the phone in to Verizon today and they upgraded some software to get it to sync.  Now I just have to learn the various controls!!

I love new gadgets. Getting a new car for the cell phone feature is a little out of my price range though. I have three cell phones right now, my old one that has problems, my new one that I didn't like very well, and my newest. I've been spending my spare time (when I'm not on bt) trying to get the old ones synced up with the new one so I don't lose the numbers. It just doesn't seem to be working. And I'm also not working. I'm not catching up on the reading or getting ready for the meeting like a good boy would be.

I just had a repetitive conversation with my mother.  sigh......she says the same thig every time I talk to her.

Huh! Mine too!

Have some chocolate chip cookies.

Living situation still not good?

She continually whines about the food at the assisted living, has decided my father must have been a saint or something....so heaven help my older sister who has spoken negatively about Saint George.....complains incessantly about my sister and worries about my brother....never asks how WE are other than to say stupid things like put a bolt on the door and not to let the girls out.

"It's okay, Mom, you don't have to eat it ... in fact, you don't have to eat anything at all if you don't want to ... and the girls? We have them in chastity belts AND AK-47s. Not to worry."

Thanks, Yanti   You have a way of aking the most circular conversations fun
