Well the cycle guy has the most amazing Colnago you would ever hope to see.... he has promised to let me 'visit' with it...

If I had a Colnago, I would buy it its own bed.

I cant wait for an upgrade as my Trek - while its served me well - is just too much hard work... the gear changes are clunky and its not pretty to look at...

Problem is I want a new Road Bike AND a TT bike...

I'll build your TT bike while I'm building Milas

hehe yay!!! I have NO idea what I would get for a TT bike - th Argons look nice but its geting to the point where too many people have them...

sesh - 2008-11-09 1:58 PM agh! I wanted to ride tomorrow morning but it's going to be in the thirties. I've got the gear to run in that, but living in Mississippi, I don't exactly have the proper riding gear.

Can you use the tops from running for riding so at least its just your legs that get cold?

I've got the layers to do it, but at that temp, I can't ride without something covering my face. It's just not gonna happen.

To be fair... I have NEVER ridden at that temp... although I did realise last winter Im going to have too invest in some warmer gear for next winter...

Low 50s is about as cold as I can go with what I have.  Which is good, because we have some really mild winters.

Especially if yuo had this one.... he told me how much its worth and I was stunned... its beautiful!

We did discuss sleeping with your bike and how its a bit hard to get the grease out of the sheets.... lol

Ooo. A bike discussion. I'm looking at Kuota, Orbea, Cannondale and Scott for a road bike. I don't like being down to only 1 bike!

I really only have one bike... the mountain bike is pretty but realistically its got slicks on it so 99% of the time Im going to ride my roadie instead...

Im going to lend the mountain bike out to one of the girls in the tri group which I feel really good about since then it will actually get ridden!

Ive decided the next bike has to not just be a good bike but looking at i has to make me want to ride...

I sold both my mtn bike and my roadie earlier this year. I've been riding the heck out of my TT bike and now it needs to go into the shop for a nice, winter overhaul, but I can't deal with being bikeless!

Get Zinn and the Art of Triathlon Bikes.

Bike shops are excellent, but the day you shed dependence on them is fantastic.

QueenZipp - 2008-11-09 1:45 PM I'm tired...we had the 3 extra kids tonight.

I cant imagine being responsible for one for more than a few hours....sounds tiring...

My kids watched the girls. We all watched the baby but he only wanted me to feed him at dinner. I got him o sleep for a while...rocking chair magic stilol works.

Course it worked on me too.

Well its been an exciting time for you Im now checking out the Blue Bicycles webpage because I had never seen them before... I think perhaps you cannot get there here in Aus...

American made. Small company...only one shop in town carries them and I can see why. I was doing 19 mph without much effort this afternoon. Jen and Kristen really have to watch out next year since I'm going bike focused for the winter.

Thats right - you are doing the Bike Focus plan too arent you?

sure thing

I loaded some pics in an album tonight.  First time I ever figured out how to use that feature.

It would stop some of the nasty looks I get on group rides Nah. Nobody has been rude. I kind of like it because the roadies give me a wide berth and don't yell at me when I do something odd like freak out in the double paceline. The TT bike is kind of like a sign. "Beware. Triathlete. Oh do it! It is a blast! It's a really nice change to solo training even though it can be nerve-racking at times.

Pace lines and peletons rock.  Especially trying to hang with a group you have no business being in then getting dropped.  Something about trying something above your head that is gratifying.

barqhead - 2008-11-09 2:05 PM Ooo.

I sold both my mtn bike and my roadie earlier this year. I've been riding the heck out of my TT bike and now it needs to go into the shop for a nice, winter overhaul, but I can't deal with being bikeless!

Oh I TOTALLY understand!!! Yeah if you have a TT Im sure you could do with a roadie to compliment it!

It would stop some of the nasty looks I get on group rides Nah. Nobody has been rude. I kind of like it because the roadies give me a wide berth and don't yell at me when I do something odd like freak out in the double paceline. The TT bike is kind of like a sign. "Beware. Triathlete. Does not know what she is doing in a pack"

I'll have to remember that sometime when I try a group ride

They have been really nice as long you don't ride your aerobars unless you are pulling in the front or riding off the back. There's just no way you can safely keep control on your bars inside the group because of all the accelerations and slow downs. But it is a lot of fun!
