skrtrnr - 2009-10-05 9:53 AM i'm sorry GHOULIES.

i cant come out and play today.

i have a spare room that needs a-tending to.  ya know. the xtra room where you stash all your xtra stuff until you find that all the xtra stuff is just everywhere, haphazardly filling the space.

ive decided, i cant put it off any longer, i need to bring order to the chaos.  and today (and tomorrow and quite possibly wednesday) is the day that im gonna face the beast!

but.....

i wanted to report in.

it was an AQUATHON-Y sorta day today.

2.5 mile run followed by a 1400 yd swim followed by a 2.1 mile run.

RUN HAPPY!  i sure did!
stacieb

Nice way to start the week! Sorry to hear about the impending cleaning on your horizon, but I can relate. That's how I spent my weekend. Grr. The good news is I have a 4 day weekend coming up, so I will be doing my best impression of a bum when I'm not running.

kns57 - 2009-10-05 1:50 PM Okay, who is doing notes for those of us who can't keep up with the posting?  What did I miss over the last four days besides 40 pages of post padding.

I have heard nothing but bashing those who were not around (me included ) but we talked about dinner, drinking, marathons (neal crushed it), triathlons (somewhat ), running (since that is what the challenge is about), Jules (GPOL) is looking for a bike for me, and I am sure there is other information that I am missing out on but this is pretty close!

Thank Bill

*Thanking the ONE who allows me to do this TOPpage*

I should go to church, but after I had a weird experience at the church near my house I have not been (except for when I am visiting my parents and at the church I grew up in) in two to three years or so...I just thought it was odd that on Easter (this was a couple of years ago) the whole sermon was about how President Bush was evil...now I am a democrat and I was not a big Bush fan, but I don't think EASTER (or church at all) is the place to be discussing this...So now I go for a run and pray on Sunday mornings...its kind of my own church.

Sorry about your experience but way to go for making your own place! I think that is truly what God is about..not some building with people saying you must do it "my" way.

ha! I still can't figure out how to make my IL's understand! I highly doubt it would work for your mom! Although I will say I just don't listen to them if they bring it up....agree to disagree!

Wow - we have a guest speaker this weekend and he was talking about how obedience can lead to legalism and sounds like that is at work here!

I wore a bike jersey to church last week (Team Astana that I won through Trek during the TdF) and some people were so Bill do you think that is appropriate.  I basically said that if I get to Heaven and God calls me out for how I dressed at church I will be good with that because it is not about our clothes (or where we worship Him, or many other things) people, it is about our relationship with Him.

I got the same kind of grief once for riding my motorcycle to church. My car was in the garage and if I was going to go my M/C was my mode of transportation. I thought the important thing should be that I was there, but there were others that didn't agree.

kcarroll - 2009-10-04 1:17 PM Hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday.  The weather was terrific today.  Lots of sun.  I got a swim in early then went out for b'fast.  This afternoon rode the Electra (and yes, she has a wicker basket and bell) up to the town sqaure for the fall festival. I heart kettlecorn.

So now got to go pack.  Am working in Munich for the next couple days and am flying out tonight.  Will try to keep irrational jetlagged but can't sleep posting to a minimum.  Not going to forget the ambien this trip.  Saucony's and Garmin first things going in the bag.

safe travels...curious, what kind of work you do that brought your there?

I work for a small pharma company.  I'm going over to meet with some of the physicians/sites that are part of our research program.  I am usually in EU a couple times a month.  Makes training interesting.  Usually no access to pools or bikes, so I heavy up on runs those weeks.  It's working for me this month with the half marathon in November.

good luck with your HM. Which one you doing?

Philadelphia on Nov 22 - Sunday before T-giving.  It is a nice course in Fairmont Park.  A friend is doing the marathon and will likely finish not much after i do.  Embarassed  The good news is I won't have to wait too long before we can head back home.

smiled, danced, smiled more, sang a few songs (sorry to those around me!), made 3 porta potty stops, only walking I did were thru a few of the water stations. My daughter and I finished together hand in hand...both with BIG smiles!

Sounds like a great race!!!  I would love to do a race with my mom.

so, whats stopping you? her????

She doesn't run...at least not yet...she can do 11 min miles on the elliptical (sp?) but won't run because she is afraid she will look stupid...I don't understand it but I know I can't force her to do it... she has to get there on her own.  When my aunt was out of town she used the treadmill in their basement, but she won't use one in public or run outside in their neighborhood.

good priorities!  have a good trip

x2~ hope you keep them in your carry on!!! last time I travelled....some of my electronics were missing from my bag! ;( DIRTY THIEVING AIRPORT EMPLOYEES!!! I know they took it!

So very true.  Sorry about losing your stuff.  Hopefully insurance covered and you got new/better gadgets.  I almost never check baggage. After years of this you get pretty good at traveling light.  I can easily manage a week (including workout stuff) in one carry on.  Last time I checked a bag was for a 10 day Alaska cruise.

Did another 7 miles today. Felt alright, but not great.  Lost motivation right before I went out.

Heading to Chicago on Wednesday morning for one night, but I hope to get in a run that evening.

Just thinking back to this time last year, when I started running again after 10 years.  Running a 5K then was just a lofty goal, and now I'm doing that for my short runs.  What a difference a year makes!
