Just got done with a conference call and training session all morning. Ice picks are firmly jammed in my eyes. How was that conference call? Sounds like you had a lot of fun. The conference call was pure bliss, as they always are. As was the hour and a half of "How to prevent alcohol misuse enabling" training. Very zen... |

Champion 6656 | Subject: RE: The Ghoulies are doing Ironman distances this month! Hey ghoulies...been a bit of a gong show... Ended up at my friends house in the city yesterday cause I got a text from my Mom telling me not to attempt to drive home because we had a crazy weird storm last night the and roads were bad with ice and fallen trees...so ya...studied at her house and slept badly on a futon... Had exam...was so delayed because there were technical difficulties..like an hour delayed...so we were all standing in a hallway waiting for the other group to be allowed out of their room...(security precautions an all)...I know I have to be flexible...but it was still crappy.. Then did 3 hrs of clinical skills practice with 2 classmates. We have a big clinical exam next week on cardio, pulmonary, thyroid, blood pressure and diabetic foot exam... So ya...life feel better now after having some chocolate coloured dried fruit and nuts...and I'm making myself a asparagus, tomaoto and feta pizza...its an experiment I got an idea for from a luncheon I went to a few weeks ago...so here's to hoping it doesn't follow the general trend of the past 24 hrs... |

Some lady cruised up to a stop stop sign, rolled through and came to halt when she saw I was about to become her hood ornament. If I hadn't jumped backwards she would have hit me. Thank goodness for my catlike speed and reflexes. What really irks me is that this was right outside the library where kids are crossing all the time. Slow down and pay attention people! |

A 4th year who has been matched to a residency program just sent around an email about the CARMS match process...its basically the organisation that you apply to in Canada when in 4th year to see where you are going to be/what specialty you will be for residency... So anyways...she sent an email detailing the process for applying to residency...panic panic panic panic....how to get references, do electives where you want to apply in the program you want to apply...make sure you give ppl preaddressed envelopes so they can just send your references idiot proofed to CARMS...flying across Canada in Feb of 2013 to all the interviews back and forth, back and forth...$4000 later...gasp gasp... Man...2 yrs away...2 yrs...need to finish 1st yr...focus on the now...haha... I've decided half of getting into medicine and getting into residency is just seeing how you deal with the stress...You guys didn't know me pre-medicine but I know I annoyed everyone last year...(I'm kind of an overanalyser...as you can tell)... Anyways...Ok...I'm good... |
