It is finally POETS day and I for one could not be happier. Hope we're all doing well? Are you going to spontaneously break into rhyme? I do like me some iambic pentameter from time to time. I am not much of a poet but I do observe POET's day when I can. |

Is it easier and/or cheaper to operate a boiler that pushes steam or hot water to heat large (1,000 gallon tanks of water) to about 165 degrees and which one will provide more temp control to be able to hold the water at a temp of say 140-150 at slowly increasing temp intervals. Also, which one would be more efficient? Good question. I think about that every day. Nerds!!!! Shocked that you are a nerd?? Really, did you not already know this??? No cake?

Expert 2122 Next to a big lake | Subject: RE: TAN #181: Sneak atTANcking a new one ... jclarke450 - 2012-09-14 1:41 PM Is a water system easier to maintain than steam? My Geek mind says it would be.tcarlson78 - 2012-09-14 10:18 AM Overt change of subject: Jim. Also, which one would be more efficient? You will always be better off just heating the water and keeping it in liquid form than creating steam to heat if you only need those temps! More efficient, now if you need instant response and cost doesn't matter, steam is the way to go. Depends on what the process is, but I would stay away from using steam unless absolutely necessary. My opinion, but it is a big chunk of what I do for a living. |
