Some Observations:
When the weatherman calls for a 40% chance of rain, the real odds of it raining on me during my commute are considerable lower - more like 10% It took me a while to figure that out and I missed out on some good riding oppotunites.
I found that I got to work in a better mood and worked more effectively on bike days than on car days. As for post-work-day stress, "Tell it to Dr. Road.."
I live too close to work for my rides to really make a big difference in training. The Round trip distance is about the same as a sprint, but I've found that 2 half rides in a day don't give the same training benefint as 1 whole ride. At lease the rides did help me get a work out on days I might otherwise have gotten none.
My 31.5 rides amount to 441 miles not ridden this summer, or, with my car, about 20 gallons of gas not used. Not a huge dent in the Our petroleum consumption. (My actual usage was prbably a little higher as I tended to "batch up" errands for "car days", Still, it's a step in the right direction I'm using it as justificaon to spend $50 on miscellaneous tri-gear.

The start of school put an early end to my quest for 50. Maybe next year, I'll take the kids to school on this:
