We came up a day early. It's pouring in dillon Frisco area. It's around noon so Saturday riders still have Vail pass to go if they are hereby now.
Ecozen that's awesome to hear about your foot. Hopefully it's good for your race.

Updated my logs, I'm at 9 stages and 220.7 miles. With 112 planned next Sunday (can't believe its that close!!) I should easily hit my goal with some easy spins to stay fresh this coming week. Looks like many others are on track as well, keep up the good work team! With Millar winning a stage for some much needed Garmin success, I'm feeling some good vibes for us as well!

Stage 7 Done

I did 16.10 between Road (11 miles) and trainer (5.10), which leads me to the story.

I am now becoming convinced that it is the bike that does not fit me.  The more I ride it I realize how crunched up I am, which is starting to hurt my knees, seat position (realized today that I'm constantly pushing back and forth, and think it might even be effecting my breathing.  I don't want to sell it because I really like it and my wife is going to kill me but believe it is likely what I will have to do if I can't get it dialed in.  (Don't want to spend a fortune trying to Make It Fit)  I have decided that I need to change my goals but have done so in the fairest way possible so as to not give myself or the team a benefit.  I took my total time and miles to this point, then got my average speed and multipled that by the number of miles I had left to reach my goal, which meant I have 8 Stages and 7:45 Hours to complete (total of 15 for 10.75).  I have changed the document and PM'd kagphin to tell her but don't see it being a problem because it's the same goal just converted to time.  I did this so that I could do trainer rides, spinning, and stationary bike at the gym to get in the hours. I just don't want to injury myself until I get this bike dialed in or get something different.  I hope this doesn't upset any of yall.

Either way looks like you have some time in the saddle ahead of you.  Hope you can figure out the fit and make that bike comfortable

Good for you!!!   Looked like they were going to be short or you were going to be way over on mileage - 5 stages and 60 km left-

hey based on what you've been doing, you could knock that out tomorrow Wink

Way to go everyone. I was really happy for the Gamin Stage win too.

Stage 7 down. 127 miles/10.5K feet. That hurt. I'm wiped. 81% and 60 to go this week. I have 45 scheduled Tuesday. I won't let the team down. I'll get my miles... but I don't see that Tuesday. Smile

When I felt like whining today, I would ride by someone... or worse someone would ride by me that did that ride the day before... The Double Triple Bypass. Some people just are not right in the head.Wink

Actually I think I might get to trade this one to the guy who bought my Giant and he will give me the old one back and a few dollars.  He was on the smaller end of the Giant so this one might fit him perfect and he has now really got into Tri's and is looking at TT bikes, so could be a Win Win.

I have an injury to report. I managed to hurt my back at work last Fri. I did get a ride in on Sat but my back is now so seized up the only thing I have been riding is the couch. I am not sure how I hurt it or when it will be good to ride. I am so sorry I have never not completed a Tour not since the start of them. I hate to let everyone down but right now I can't even get up and down with out the Hubbys help. I will let Kat know and see what do do about it. If I get some better I'll let everyone know and ride but as of right now. I am out of the Tour.  Again I am so sorry

Chris

Don't apologize, injuries happen and it's more important to not do further damage than finish a challenge tour. You take care of yourself and this injury is just keeping us in line with the real Team Garmin + 46 other names

So sorry Chris. We truly are Garmin. Get better and don't feel bad. I wouldn't. If I'm good I'm good, if I'm injured I'm out. Real simple. Challenges are supposed to help us have fun and keep moving forward. Taking care of injuries is also moving forward... just not fun.

I will likely be the next after doing so little and now bascially knocking out 8 Stages of 1 Hr in roughly eight days to get to my goal.  Embarassed  It's my own fault though, so now I need to get off this computer and go put in my Hour today.
