Champion 9060 Charlottesville, Virginia | Subject: RE: Team Liquigas Official Thread Very long weekend. 40 mile hilly road race yesterday. To make a long story short, dropped chain after 13 miles in (and then 3-4 times more), spent the next 26 miles chasing the main group. In the end found out my FD was cracked. Went to daughters 5th birthday party Today, woke up at 4:30 am to take wife and son to a tri. In the afternoon took my son to a Laser Tag birthday party. I think it's time for a beer... Hope everyone had a great weekend! |

(OK, commited to first tri about a year ago in honor of my 50th birthday.) You are putting in 38 kilometers every ride, that's 23.6 miles each time you go out. No way could I keep up that volume.
I was mostly kidding but when I joined I fully expected to be doing the least distance. I adjusted the expected distance (I think it was said it was okay to adjust up but not down?) so now the percentage is more reasonable. Please LMK if I should revert back to the old estimated distance. TX! |

I'm surprised. We live in Mexico and rarely are able to get any live feeds of anything, but have had no problem with Eurosport. Look down in that list and you should see 3-4 options for English. Did you try all of them? Let me try to screen shot where you should be looking...On the left side of the screen under teh "facebook" link/icon you should have a number of options to try for English. They will ONLY work live and many times cut out before podium presentation but live during Tour coverage, they should work. Yep I clicked all the English links, and even a few others in different languages just to see what I might get, and couldn't get anything. I do have a DNS filter on through our router here at home so that our 12 y/o can't look up nasty stuff, so I'm wondering if that is one of the things that gets filtered out even though it's not something that's questionable. And I'm a dope and somehow clicked "Block Sender" to an e-mail update from BT on this thread so I haven't been getting any forum updates in my e-mails. I thought our thread had died! haha I ended up riding from Lincoln, NE to Council Bluffs, IA yesterday for a total of 70 miles. The Garmin data is in my log if you want to click the Logs button below my post here. Suffice to say it got a little warm (started the ride at just before 6 AM when the sun wasn't even out and it was 80 degrees with high relative humidity) and I went through 7 full bottles of fluid. Stopped after 16 miles and ate some McDonald's (Sausage, egg & cheese McGriddle - has half your RDA of calories in just the sandwich!) I should back up and explain what happened Friday to make my ride yesterday seem even more epic. I pulled our two little boys in the kid trailer while our 12 y/o and my wife also rode along to the park at a lake that's about 5 miles from our house. I took off my cycling shoes and socks and walked maybe 20 yards to a drinking fountain, filled up my bottle, and as I was walking back my wife asked me to fill hers so I did. I could feel that the rough surface of the concrete (or was it the heat?) was causing some discomfort down in the area between the ball of my foot and my toes. When we started the ride back home it was pretty painful in my shoes and by the time I was able to look at them after we got home I realized that they were starting to blister up. Ugh! Just what I needed two days before a huge ride! The next day I lanced and drained them and cleaned them up as best I could, and today they feel fine--you can hardly tell there were blisters there! So I'm thankful for that. Hope everyone had a good weekend, and let's have a good week this week (this is the final week, right?) |

What's the last day, is it Sunday? Because if so, I'm going to blow my mileage goal out of the water! I only have 64 miles to go and Day 1 of RAGBRAI is 64.2 miles, plus I'm going to be riding this week of course. |

Veteran 329 El Paso, Texas | Subject: RE: Team Liquigas Official Thread I figured that since the TdF took a day off today, I would too. Instead of biking I took my first run in almost 3 weeks—HEAVEN! I pulled off a 29 minute 5K so I was pretty happy. (And to think, a year ago this time I was looking forward to breaking a 12 minute mile!) God willing and the creek don't rise, I'll easily hit my mileage and stages goals. |

Veteran 329 El Paso, Texas | Subject: RE: Team Liquigas Official Thread I put in 14.5 miles with our local bike club's group ride tonight. There was a super nice hill in the middle of the ride—this hill completely kicked my butt last year, it was nice to ride it tonight for the first time in 6 months and I was able to kick back quite a bit. |

Veteran 329 El Paso, Texas | Subject: RE: Team Liquigas Official Thread kathy caribe - 2011-07-19 11:35 AM I was at 7 m/k forever and suddenly it just went 7 - 6.8 - 6.6 - 6.4 - then I hit that magic 30 minute 5K last November. Granted, I injured my ankle that night and couldn't run for about 8 weeks and I was right back to the 6.5 m/k pace. Wow! You give me hope! I started this season with similar - 7 min km - and am hoping for 6. But in March I did another 30 minute 5K and I've been going down since then—managed a PR of 27:01 at the end of June. My super-secret goal is to run a sub 25 minute 5K at the Susan G. Komen race next February. |
