Elite 3091 Spokane, WA | Subject: RE: Any REAL football fans here? crowny2 - 2008-10-20 10:50 AM Bloody hell. Back to back 3-2 come from behind victories. This does not do my heart any good. Not. At. All. (Liverpool has got to stop giving the other teams a 2-0 head start!) Hull continues to win. They keep this up, and they will stay up this year, no questions asked. Chelsea also continues to win. In very convincing fashion. Man United has unfortunately started to move up the table. Knew it wouldn't last long, but a fella can dream, can't he? And how far has Tottenham fallen. Seriously. Bottom of the league. Also, they came out last week with PR that they were "joining up" with San Jose in the MLS. Wow. Two teams that couldn't be more suited for each other. Both at the bottom of their tables. Yuck! So the only big game coming up this weekend is going to be Chelsea v. Liverpool which will give one of them top of the table, unless a draw happens. The rest of the matches are bottom v top or bottom v bottom. So gents, up with the opinions. Whathca thinking about this coming weekend, or are you not looking past the Champions League matches midweek? Thanks for keeping the thread alive, Crowny. I haven't been watching Champions League matches during the week cuz I've been watching all the baseball. My wife would not be pleased. I love the Hull story. More EPL talk this weekend. |

Ouch. So your team is Leeds. Most of my family live in and around Leeds. They would have been promoted last year had it not been for the 15 point hole they had to work their way out of. And at the mid point, I didn't see them NOT making it last year, but I guess that is why they play the matches. Do you think they will make it up to the next level this year? It is a shame for such a storied team to be so far down. I feel for you. |

Chris Rolfe got a hat trick in the first 1/2 of play!! It was teh awesomeness. They have now guaranteed home field advantage in the playoffs. Unfortunately, I will miss the first game because I will be out of town. Hrumph. Think they will reschedule just for me? |

I was listening to some pundits this morning crapping all over the MLS for letting Beckham leave to go to Milan in the MLS off season...personally I can see why he would want to...however, if my $250M investment left to go play in someone elses shirt and league I would want considerable compensation..I dont blame him as an individual but the league seems to be sending a bad message....thoughts? |

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think he can play, I thought it was training and training only. Like what he did last year. He was only there to train and nothing else. |

Predictions for the weekend. I've got to admit that I checked mid-week to see what games I get this weekend. Chelsea/Sunderland. Chelsea at home should be a winner. Liverpool should have no problem with last place Tottenham. Again, the game I'd most like to see is not televised--Hull/ManU |

At least we are within sight of the top. Much closer than in the past. But if it boils down to a tie at the end of the year, there is no chance in hell we will ever catch up to the Goal Difference that Chelsea currently has. Good lord. They keep racking up these high scoring affairs. It will be a fun ride this year. Nice to see a bit of a shake up coming along with Stoke (whodathunkit) and Hull (seriously) playing lights out footy. They really are challenging the top of the league teams. And it is kind of fun seeing them (including LFC) change how they play. I think it is making it more exciting too. |

Elite 3091 Spokane, WA | Subject: RE: Any REAL football fans here? Alright Crowny, you must feel better now. Liverpool 3, WBA nil. On top of the league table alone (for at least one day) and all is well after last weekend. Keane gets two. Torres back on the pitch for a bit. Edited by zed707 2008-11-08 1:48 PM |
