I had every intention of lifting today but guess what?  I didn't.  Oh well, there's still tomorrow to get my last one in to meet one of my challenge goals.  I did, however, manage to get in a bike ride and I'm very happy to say that I am finally getting comfortable on it ~ I don't freak out every time a car goes by.  I just love progress!!

Also, I wanted to let you know that I am incorporating swimming into my January challenge goals.  I just haven't figured out the specifics but at least I will be forcing myself to get in the water!

Ran hills in Washington Park tonight, it was tough but a very satisfying workout.

Anne, anyone who runs hills and one of them is named MF Hill, has my complete respect!

I got my butt in the gym today to lift (which finished off one of my challenges) and ran 2 miles.  The run was supposed to be tomorrow but since we will be leaving town, I threw it in todays workout and will do abs and stretching tomorrow.

FYI...my hubby and I are going to The Big Island tomorrow for his birthday (which is actually today) and New Years.  I'll jump on the net tomorrow morning but then I won't be back until the 4th.

Anne- Awesome run!

As for me I did 7 miles on the stationary bike to fulfill my challenge commitment...felt pretty good.

Good to see the group using this forum!  Keep up the good work and keep each other accountable...   Be sure to drop an inspire on each other from time to time...it makes the decision NOT to workout a little tuffer - knowing someone is check'n in on us....

Does visualizing a nice run or ride count?  I've had a set back and this cold feels like it's gone deeper into my lungs.  I spent the night on the couch 'cause I was coughing so much and so hard.  Today I can't walk up the stairs without being out of breath.  I'm just going day to day and hopefully will be able to get out there again soon.

And what's even worse it's a beautiful sunny day outside.  Haven't had that for a while.

Glad to see that everyone else has been able to keep it going through the holidays.

Lara - Feel better and take care of yourself!

John - You are braver than I to be out there today ...but if you are out on the Lakefront path tomorrow you might see me!

As for me I did 9.15 miles on the stationary bike todayn and my trainer got here...so once the christmas tree comes down I can get it set up!

Had every intention of getting in a good long swim today. Then work happened. What a rotten day. No energy left to swim.  Gonna take the dog out for a run after dinner though.  Have to get at least that much in today. Day 30 of my challenge.

Nice job getting those workouts in!  ABAKE did a killer run/race yesterday....so proud of her.  Smile

Kromanowski, way to go!

There are some great rewards for dedicated training....January is the time to start laying down a good base.  You cannot build up and get in race shape in May for a May race.  You'll get hurt, frustrated and quit the sport.   Try to get in the habbit of doing something - everyday.  Yes, every day!  If nothing else, streach out and post it on your blog.  Health is a habit.

Life is too short and sweet to not have wellness as a cornerstone.  Just walk in to your local Walmart if you need a reminder and some motivation........

Today will be my last sick/rest day.  I'm still coughing but it's getting better.  Tomorrow's plan is to do some very light very aerobic riding or walking.  Then try some light weights and see how they feel.  I suspect I'm gonna be sore for a couple days as I work back into the daily routine.

Oh how I hate being sick!

Thanks to all for the encouragement.

Sickness does suck.  Get well....   Ease back into things...we don't want a relapse.

Wal-Mart scares me.  I'm always afraid I'm going to have to do CPR on somebody there.

Being sick is the pits. I was sick quite a bit during December and lost a lot of condition.  Please don't push it too hard and risk a relapse!
