geauxtri - 2009-02-26 9:35 AM Welcome Kendra!!!!

Hello Heather.  I can't believe we are on at the same time.  It has been so long.

Bummer about your knee during ski season.

I know... remind me later to rant about how I hate the way children's books do not follow a "normal" DD system... finding George was hard last week

My knee is actually healing well... I am worried about the hand however
At least I don't need a hand to run... and my swim stroke is so poor it doesn't really affect it

George who?

Curious George....  We finally found 4 early readers (never did find the actually traditional George stories).   I can't wait to tell the boys we have to bring them back.

Fiction books are usually filed by the authors last name, not by DD.  The DD system is used for non-fiction books and breaks it down by subject.  So Curious George should have been by "Rey" for the author.

I always figured the letter system was another part of the DD system.  They div the children's books into different sections (Juv and I think ER - or something like that)  so books by the same author can be in different locations depending on the reading level.  Makes a huge college library look easy to me.
It was never a big problem with just one reading child, but now with two on different levels, I'm slightly confused.
Oh, and THEN... they put collections (ie Berenstein Bears or Dr Suess) on a different wall as well.... WTH????

Going to NC for wedding, maybe?
Really? Where?

She's from Charlotte, weddings in Ashville... so I guess a tour between the two.

Not too bad.  BT hiccuped in the middle and lost some of my posts.  Actually said the BBS is down for maintenance. Hopefully I didn't do that from too much submitting at the same time.

Anyway, I opened 25 tabs in Firefox, typed everything and then used ctrl+tab to go through and submit them.

geauxtri - 2009-02-26 10:37 AM I got the perfect race for you... It's called the CookieChaser... winners get boxes of girl scout cookies

There's one in Raleigh.... Run 2 miles. Eat 1 dozen Krispy Kreme glazed donuts. Run 2 miles. I've never done it..... (It started out as a bunch of college kids on a dare, and has grown into an annual event.)

Do they provide barf bags?

Just one. I think it's called "The Sidewalk." Although, I guess some people manage to find a nice tree or bush.... If they get there in time.

I'd be really mad if they were running by my house on the second leg of the race.  I'll stand their with my hose, LOL

And a loud air horn.

Okay, Fiction books are broken up by Easy (usually picture books that can be read or read by those 6 and under).  Then you have your Juvenile section for those in elementary school.  Our Teen section is geared towards middle school and the beginning of high school, some librarias have Young Adult (mine doesn't), then Adult (not X rated).

Artemis - 2009-02-26 10:22 AM I think the real question is how much ground you're going to make up on me this month.

Yeah. It's not gonna happen. You're ahead of me to stay. LOL

True.  But you're going to narrow the gap.  I wouldn't be surprised if you are at 15,000 by the end of the month

and then there were the little people at the bottom of the chain of BT posters... with not even 5K posts, much less 10K
