I like Cadel...for ONE reason...

He is WHY more Australians have heard of this thing called the Tour De France...

Its WHY people are actually asking me to tell them about the race and how it works...

And WHY the race now gets coverage in the mainstream press....

Its nothing to do with him as a rider or person... its all about the effect of having him doing well in terms of improving the profile of cycling in Australia

Oh here we go. excuses, excuses.

Eurosport commentary " Cadel holding on at the back letting the others do the work, saving his energy"

They said it not ME!

Already lost almost a minute...

Wow, they just introduced Cervelo Test Team, and I had no idea they were that old...Haussler's 25, one other guy was 29, everyone else in their 30's. And Cuesta, who is 40. Fogies.

Cat, " Limpet, Limpet, Limpet".

Tom, "Zzzzzzzz".

Speaking of which... what are your predictions for Tom and Devolder today?

Nothing to prove today. Just have to get round.

But... in terms of press coverage... people seem to get the *yellow jersey* and coming first more...

Interesting since I think Robbie has worn the Yellow a heck of a lot more than Evans has ...........

haha not arguing with you...

But he was never considered in contention to *win* the thing...

Its a strange thing in terms of media coverage... and awareness... but the last few years there are more people talking tour and asking me about it... its always Cadel they are asking about...

Then again its almost midnight... Im not that coherant

O'Grady has done a lot, McGee too... Allan Davis in the last year... and Simon Gerrans

Further back... Phil Anderson!

Just all our sport guys (we have the Tour coverage here in Aussie) have commented on it too... might just be timing rather than what he is doing... *shrug*

Valvepiti and Bertie
Not with Cadel & his long eyelashes. Wonder if he wears mascara? Dubious, he's very dubious in my opinion.

I just had a cup cake in your honour...

My favourite girl in the shop told me it wasn't a cup cake but a muffin! A delicious mix of carroty fruity sweet lovelyness was how she described it...  I HAD TO HAVE ONE!
Sounds just like my description.

Piffing down with rain here at the moment. Think my BBQ tonight might be a bit wet.

Big fan of Phil Anderson back in the day.  I've always been partial to the Super-Domestiques (Anderson, Yates, Andreu, Hincapie).
