My best buddy did some research for me...there is a possible complication to look out for with this med that strenuous exercise could potentially trigger. I am going to keep close tabs on how I feel and discuss it with the dr at my next visit. |

Yeah for chronic illnesses, I guess. My thyroid is acting up and not responding well to meds. My levels are in the normal range, but I still feel terrible and have bad symptoms. Plus, my throat has been swollen and I'm having a hard time swallowing, so my doc is worried. Getting an ultrasound to check for nodules, tumors, etc. tomorrow. Makes me nervous. My dad just had his thyroid removed due to a tumor that was cancer. I'm a little frustrated and worried. |

My dad just had his thyroid removed due to a tumor that was cancer. I'm a little frustrated and worried. I go for an ultrasound next week on mine.... Are they checking Free or Total values? (Estrogen can bind with T4, so the Total T4 may not show how much is actually available to your body.) Is your Free T3 in the normal range, too? (Mine wasn't until I started T3 replacement.) How are your Vitamin D levels? And your ferritin? (Both of mine were really low, and I think that also affected how I felt.) I didn't have trouble swallowing, but it always felt like there was a large lump in my throat. It took 10 years to finally get the meds adjusted properly. (And it doesn't take much to throw them off again.) Good luck tomorrow! Hope it turns out to be nothing! |

My dad just had his thyroid removed due to a tumor that was cancer. I'm a little frustrated and worried. My doc has been checking free T3 and T4 every other time I get a blood test. She's rechecking everything this time (TSH, T3, T4, and antibodies). Also doing a CBC to check all of the other vitamin levels. I had one in November and everything looked ok, but it can change pretty easily. The swallowing thing started in the past few months. I've noticed it's harder to swallow the same amounts of food that I used to and actually got something stuck in my throat the other day. I really hope it's nothing serious, but it's hard not to expect something bad after seeing how this started for my dad. |
