I just realized I have a work picnic tomorrow evening so I'm off to the grocery store to find something to pass off as a homemade dish.  Shhhh, don't tell anyone

Afternoon rockstars!

I hope all is going well--I'm looking forward to the stories of great conquests this weekend for you guys racing.

I got 12 miles in (should have been more) for an hour 1:45 (should have been 2:00). I went to the doctor about my knee pains and it is nothing that should slow me up. I'm off to ART and deep tissue next week. Bah but not a complete bah.

That's still a good run.  Nice work!

And good news on the knees

I am thinking I should have made my eating a goal this month. I have open mouth shovel it in syndrome. Maybe if I log my food again, I will be embarrassed and stop. grrr.....

ilucy2 - 2009-08-06 9:12 AM Slugger!!! WOW, I thought men were like silent Sams! You have proven my theory wrong. It is nice to read though. You asked if I am in the PNW, yes I exist in Idaho. Do lots of travel between Montana and WA. I thought our team is chatting pretty good, I am usually unable to "chat", I may be shy....

Ha! Dunno about guys being Silent Sams, but I'm a chick! And, FWIW, my screen name has nothing to do with baseball/softball...

You must be up in North Idaho then, yes? I used to live in Pullman, worked in Moscow. We had a work site up in Kellogg, ID. I love the Palouse!

That's totally my plan. Working so far!

Good luck tomorrow, sparco!

Nice job on goals, everyone. Looks like we've got a pretty decent start to the month.

Commuted in again. Shoulda tried for the ten mile, but oh well. Rode my mtn bike, which was SO much smoother and more stable. Paid for it in time, though - a full three minutes longer than on my roadie (over five miles, that's quite the drop). I run out of gears on top so I can't power down hills. Eh, tradeoffs. At least I had three headlights this time so I could SEE!

Going for a nice backpack this weekend. Unfortunately, I goofed and invited my friend who is coming along to also tent out with me Friday night. I was hoping that would be some quiet by-myself time. I might sneak out there early to get some time alone.

Gotta pick up dinner, figure out dessert, pack, and head out. No sleep for me today, but maybe that means I won't wake up at 3 am tossing and turning!

Ugh, my boss informed me she's coming in tonight, but not when. So the whole night has been waiting and waiting. I wonder if she knows how nervous she makes us? She's my direct supervisor, and I only see her around once every two months or so. Supposed to be once a month, but that hasn't happened in about three months. Ugh.

LOL!  I might have a case of that as well.  One of my dinners earlier this week was a plate of cookies and a glass of milk

I think I would trade the 3 minutes for being to see too.  Last time I checked seeing where you're going on a bike was a good thing.

Morning all!  I hope everything is going well today.  On the plate today is an hour of swimming and my first PT session.

Slugger - 2009-08-07 3:13 AM ...Good luck tomorrow, sparco!...

Thanks for all the well wishes team, but...

I'm an idiot.  Unbelievable.  Just another confirmation of our busy summer.  Got to Gear West last night and they couldn't find my registration.  I left the line, went out to the car, booted up my laptop and searched my bank statements on-line to find the credit card transaction as proof of registration.  Registration opened mid-March, I found Minneman & Square Lake registration, registration for Turtleman 2008...and then it dawned on me...a few days before Turtleman registration opened up we had the incident with credit card fraud, so I waited until all the invalid charges were removed from our account and we got the new card activated before I registered for races.  Registered for several races after that point and somehow mentally convinced myself that I registered for Turtleman...but alas...race is sold out...has been for months.

Today starts my training for Square Lake tri...

I will be registering for WhistleStop marathon and a replacement duathlon THIS WEEKEND...

Indoor trifecta this morning (will hopefully make me feel better about my registration blunder--it was a B race anyways, right?)...swim after work (1/2 day), bike on the trainer (rain) and run on the treadmill...

That's a complete bummer!  At least you seem to be taking the right approach to handling it.  Even 24 hours later, I think I'd still be throwing a hissy fit at myself.

Well, hopefully I still have another 20+ years of racing in me.  At close to 8 races a year (running and tris), THAT'S 160 MORE RACES (in my best Billy Mays voice...may he rest in peace)!!!  I can afford to skip one...

lol - not only do I see mine every day but he wants weekly "progress report" meetings from myself and my colleague in the same position.  As much as I like him, the thought of only once a month makes me VERY happy.

Well, C is for cookie and that's good enough for me!  I am decidely old school and cookies are not just a sometimes food.  (I still can't believe they make cookie monster say that now.  It's like some happy part of my childhood has been corrupted.)
