Hola Ghoulies! I really love Monday mornings. They're always such a nice exercise in being flexible and rethinking the whole week's schedule. Oh well - at least I don't completely hate my job and can have some fun. I hope you're all doing well so far!

ironannekidd - 2010-05-02 4:57 PM I did not run today. I debated long and hard about the decision. I talked with friends about it Friday night. I talked to Stacie about it Saturday. And in the end it was not worth hurting myself more to run the race. My hamstring is hurt, it hurts all the time, it is spasming often. I want to be healthy so I can start training for the MCM.

I didn't make the final decision until I was getting dressed this morning. The race started at 7:30, I think the rain started about 7:38. I felt better about my decision after the rain, running on a wet slippy course would not have done good things for my leg.

Instead of running I went and handed out water with Stacie's tri club. I got rained on, had water splashed on me, had water spilled on me, and by the time we were done I thought my arm was going to fall off. I had a good time. I have a new appreciation for the volunteers now.

I have some time now to step back, regroup, swim, stretch, strength train, and hopefully bike, before I start running again. My next race isn't until the end of July.

Good call. I am sure it was really hard to make that decision, but you did the right thing! Now get into some treatment ASAp so you can be ready for the MCM.

oh, and TTIWWP!!!!

Agreed! Hopefully as I go through the pages this morning I'll discover that one of you remembered a camera

An update from Jules everyone:

Hi  Bill...thanks for checking up on me! I have been having some really rough times! I am about to head home next week after spending over two months with my parents...my dad is doing better, but my mom has a very aggressive uteran cancer...luckily it has not spread..but she has chemo and radiation starting this week! I HATE THAT I CAN NOT BE HERE FOR HER TREATMENT! but I have to get home to work....if that is not enough news...my sisters first husband who is the father of her oldest just found out he has ALS (Lou Gehrigs disease) ~ he is like a brother to me so this has hit me hard! I have spent the past few days since he has arrived in Houston...helping him feed himself thru a feeding tube since he is too week to do so himself...today I am going over there to clean his apt and help him organize his room ~ his clothes all swallow him up since he has lost so omuch weight. Arent you glad you asked!??? joking! sorry that I couldnt say I was in Hawaii living it up! but soon, eh!!!

how are you doing? and the rest of my sister and brother BT sisters and brothers? please let them know HOW much I miss t hem and that  I do intend to come back stronger then ever! I have been running at least a few times a week...ran 7 yesterday...and will be running in the bay to breakers with my daughter in a few weeks.....

hugs to you and thanks again for checking in! lord knows I need to get back to you guys...been a while since I had a REALLY good laugh!

have a great weekend and please kit!

Bill, thank you very much for the update. I'm really glad you were able to get ahold of her.

And Jules, if you're reading this just remember you're missed here and that we can't wait for you back in the Village. But in the meantime, take care of what you need to take care of in your own life. I'll keep your seat warm until you're ready to come back!

We did not do anything bad.

The worst thing that happened was I broke a beer glass during dinner, and there was still some beer in it.

wgraves7582 - 2010-05-03 7:34 AM Morning everyone.  Got drenched on my commute to work but I missed the worst of it by about 5 minutes.

Advice: when riding downtown and the buildings turn disappear be prepared for a heavy rain to soak your a$$ at 6:30 in the morning - just saying!!!

Um... Did you have dry clothes to put on when you got to work?

Of course - I bought waterproof panntiers for such an occasion

Fixed that for 'ya.

Morning everyone.

Party foul! I believe the penalty is 5 push ups per ounce of beer spilled.

deehtz - 2010-05-03 8:13 AM Good Morning, Ann and Bill and whoever else is here!

I spent the weekend cleaning out the junk room to turn it into a guest room.  I'm not finished, but I did make good progress.  Company arrives Tuesday next week, so I need to stay after it!  Smile

Training will be light this month, but I am going to strive for consistent training.  I think a run later today and then a massage.

Hey Dee! Like Robin (?) said, it's not TRUE slacking unless you wait to clean out the guest room until the day/hours before they arrive. I suggest you put off all house work and get in an extra bike ride or swim instead. It's better for you

Just use your best guess and the honor system. If it was just a few drops then 5 push ups is good. If it was half a glass you're probably talking 8 -10 oz.

wgraves7582 - 2010-05-03 7:34 AM Morning everyone.

I'm really glad I didn't have a mouth full of coffee just now...

Ooohhh!  Ghoulie Fight!  And without panties!!!

Kendra, I think that's one of the best toppages in a long time. Well done

X2!!!

Although that could change the outcome of the fight, depending on whether Kim likes toppage or not.

Hey Ann - I checked out those rental homes and I think they're all SWEET! The only catch is that they're a little way from the airport, but transportation can be arranged pretty easily. Rentals/shuttles are easily found around here.

How far out do you think we'll need to make a reservation?

I've got a lot more than 30 pounds on you... Need a sparring partner to help you train for the big fight?

I don't know, but we probably don't want to wait until the last minute.

I don't care where we stay, except near water. So SD or Carlsbad, or even somewhere in between is fine with me. I think there were better housing choices closer to SD.
