All these crunches and core workouts are starting to show and my abs are getting stronger and stronger and stronger. Anyway, I have been reading about fat burning, heart rates etc. I typically train at a pretty intense to moderately intense level which apparently burns carbs and not a lot of fat. In order for me to get rid of those nasty HANDLES O' LOVE I think I need to train longer with less intensity. So I am going to add a long, long light intensity run to my workouts once per week and see what that does for me. I will let you all know how it goes.
Funny you should mention this, I just had this discussion w/one of the trainers at the gym last week. They said that most folks really overestimate where their heart rate needs to be to be in a 'fat burning' zone and often end up overdoing and in the sugar/carb burning range, which just ends up shortening the workout cause you've used up your energy reserves.
