Since we are talking bodily functions, what do you IM's do when you have to take a dump?  Or do you plan nutrition the few days prior so there is no #2's?  I mean if you are saving time by peeing on the bike and water, you can't very well poop on yourself right?

You ask this question and the thread goes quiet -- nice.

For me, my race fueling plan includes a fiber load 3 and 4 days out from the race then, 2 days out I completely eliminate fiber from my diet (the theory is to clean everything out and then to no build up anything else).  If you need to "go" during the race there are port-a-lets on the course, but if you're really going for a super competative time, there are people who choose to, in your words, poop on themselves.

A few years ago in the womens pro race in Kona Dede Greisbauer declined to use the port-a-let in order to secure a top 10 finish.  Last year at IMFL there was a Kona qaulifier wearing a whire tri suit who also declined to use the port-a-let.  There were several pciture of him finishing and he became known as the "Mad Shatter."

So, I guess the answer is it all depends.

Yeh I know there are porta potties everywhere, just wondering if you pee yourself, what happens when . . .  I guess that is a don't go there for most

It was actually funny when I first started reading IM reports and of all the people peeing themselves.  I was so grossed out, but then I was like, that is dedication.  I am not that competitive . . . I can hold it or as one girl put it, stop in a corn field

Good morning everyone!  Today I have a tempo ride this morning and a hill run tonight.

Seeing that its 4 days from Easter -- question for the day, what is your favorite "treat" food?

For me its kinder chocolate Happy Hippos --best ever and Peeps!

Here's what a Happy Hippo looks like:

don't poop on the bike or anywhere else besides a toilet, please.  really please.  There is a thread about someone who did poop on the bike.  Pee washes off with a squirt of the water bottle, your shorts are already wet from teh swim so no big deal.  Also, do you really want to run with a load in your shorts?  i think not.  If you have to poop, that is why there are portapotties, cornfields or the woods.

Favorite treat around Easter, and they only come out around Easter - Reese Pieces Eggs.  They are a Reese Pieces but Super Turbo Sized, so about 10 times the awesome peanut butter center.  They are SO BAD though, my husband has to hide the bag from me and ration them out or I'll eat the entire bag.  I used to wish they would be around all year, but am glad it's a once a year deal when I can indulge and then forget about it for a while.

What are those Hippos made out of?  Same thing as Peeps?  They are kind of cute.

I think I'm the only one in this group who hasn't done a triathlon yet.  I'm a complete newbie

I peed my pants during the Turkey Trot last year   I'm one of those people who pees a lot when nervous, and I couldn't find a bathroom before the gun went off.  Started leaking urine around mile 1......ended up with lots of chafing.  LOL  It was snowing, so I don't think people noticed.  Really makes me nervous for the HM.....

You are not alone, I have yet to do one!!  And it won't be until July! I'm the weird Mountain Bike guy on a triathalon forum!

So iIflew to Wash DC yesterday to pick up the wife's new car.  Dragged my 6 year old along for the ride as he wanted to go for a plane ride.  Glad he came and kept me company for the 9 hours it took me to drive back.  Darn traffic.

Anyway, it was 89 degrees there yesterday, everything in full bloom for the most part, super green grass, and POLLEN EVERYWHERE!!!  i hate pollen (allergies). Either way, I was so jealous of the nice weather!

At least we have hit the low 50's here in CT, but the damn wind won't stop blowing!!!

Not being able to post in here days I'm in the office is bogus.  So lets cover a few things.  First tri experience was on a whim.  I had a buddy in Utah doing a sprint for grins and giggles so I started looking for something local to me.  I mentioned this to another friend who then not only found one but registered.  Well I guess I couldn't back out then.  I trained the best I knew how to, bought a road bike, some tri shorts, and my first compression top ever.  What hooked me was the rush I got standing on the pier getting ready to wade into the water.  Hooked ever since, and an MOP'er ever since too which needs to change.

Legs are starting to feel normal today.  Good brick this morning.  There's a tri team sponsored by an LBS by me that is brand new and only $100 for the year.  Think I'm gonna do it.  Also gets me a discount on new bikes which should pay for the membership on it's own.

Gonna try and get a good long run and ride in over the next 3 days, and I hate traditional Easter food so my diet should be set.  Family was going to do a crawfish boil which would have been AWESOME, but now my MIL's parents are coming so that got switched to ham.  Yuck.

Happy Hippos are an addiction I picked up when I was going to school in Europe.

The candy itself consists of a wafer cookie, shaped like a hippo. Inside are two flavors of fillings. In the original, one is milk flavored and the other is nutella/hazelnut flavored. In the cocoa flavor, the hazelnut has been replaced by chocolate filling. The bottom of the wafer cookie is dipped in a frosting/meringue mixture and is crumbly.

They are so ridiculously good.  I order them from a Europena grocer and use them as special posy-long bike treats.

Being on a team is fun.  Its nice to have teammates both to train and race with.

I just got my race fueling plan for IMLP and I'm instructed to pee twice on the bike (and if I don't pee twice I'm not drinking enough).

Less that two days from my du. A week away from this freaking conference and I will be glad when both are done. Between e-mails and phone calls for the conference it seems like I am getting nothing done. Working with my committee chairs is like trying to dael with a mental health ward. There is the schizophenic treasurer, the bi-polar registration chair, the depressed hospitality room chair person to name a few. I hope hammering myself on this du will be just what I need for the final push to conference day.
