Fly me to the moon, let me sing among those stars.

Let me see what spring is like, on jupiter and mars.

I love that song!

How are you, dear Gym?

Hanging in there...

I thought my pool pump was busted this morning to add yet another to the stress buffet I have going on...  But I took it apart, did some cleaning and it seems good as new...  Phew.

How are you?  The tropics still treating you right?

Do you have a cartridge filter? Mine goes through replacements every year. I h8 the thing...

Yep, and almost ALL problems lead to dirty filters...  I serious thought it was the pump, so I pulled the filter apart and cleaned it so when the mechanic came over to replace the pump under my home warrantee, they can't NOT fix it and say it was due to the filters (which has happened before).  But after I cleaned them, good as new.  The pump must have been struggling a bit to push water through them and making a bad sound.  Seems all good now...

Like you H8 the cartridge filters...

I think that the hose punctures microholes in the membranes. Mine quit working after the spring opening. Pool is very dirty and I need to vac about 3 times. First one of the season, I have to break down the filter and hose the cartridges to get a clean return flow. I can't even vac to waste and replace the pool water nor can I backwash like my old sand filter when I had the above ground.

I shouldn't have let the installer talk me into it and may just drop dime and get a sand one.

One man I wished I could have seen perform live before he passed on.  We truly lost a gem when he died.

He did a version of "who want's to live forever" shortly before he passed and he was so powerful, even as week as he was.  They said they almost needed to cary him on/off the stage (according to a documentary)...  But he STILL knew how to perform.  It gave me chills and also turned into one of my favorite songs of all time.

There was a great documentary of him on the LOGO channel not too long ago and they showed that video.  He was a ghost of his former self and still had the voice of a God.

To me, there still is no better front man than him.  He set the bar and set it so high nobody yet has come close.

ETA: Show Must Go On is another one that kills me when I hear it knowing what he was going through.

That could be the one.  But I saw it much longer ago.  Easily could have just been a re-air.

Looked like it was a bit older.  Great insight into a pretty private person.

One man I wished I could have seen perform live before he passed on.  We truly lost a gem when he died.

Even though Queen is before my time, I completely agree. I have seen the musical "We Will Rock You" 3 times I think, and I love the music, but seeing him would have been absolutely mind blasting.

I forget you are a young pup.

My brother (RIP) introduced me to Queen when I was quite young.  Probably around 6 (I'll be 40 in November).  Queen Live Killers 8-track.  I still have it.

I remember watching him on TV with Live AID and then in the blink of an eye, he was gone.  I can't even imagine what it would have been like live.

A what?!?!?! Tongue out Please tell me you don't have anything to PLAY it on... A record player is one thing, but an 8-track?

I had something to play it on up until about 10 years ago when I finally got rid of my Montgomery Ward Multi-Level Stereo (8 track, record player, and cassette player) because I had no room for it in our appartment at the time.  Took up tons of space.  But yes, I did have something to play it on for a while.

Now I have it on my iPhone along with their greatest hits, Vol 1 & 2, Inuendo, and a few others.

I'm listening to Inuendo now because of this conversation.
Did it have the huge plastic dome over the top? Those were cool. I had a Fisher stereo, but mine was cassette only. I didn't like the 8-track because it would soften the volume, go "CLACK" and change tracks, then ramp back up mid-song.

Yep.  You could load up to 6 or 7 albums on the record player.  It had it's own rack that came with it.  It used to be my brother's and he gave it to me.  Had a separate tuner unit, separate cassette unit, 8-track unit and then record player.  4 units to it all together.  Then it had two 3ft tall speakers that I came close to blowing out.  I played the bejeesus out of that unit.  Heavy metal will do that,  you know.
I had to rebuild my speakers. Bought car stereo 6x9 Jensons and 3" tweeters and reupholstered the cabinets when i was done. Whatever happened to music being a past time and an activity instead of sticking prongs in your ears?

Heh.  You know, I think one of those speakers actually wound up in my first car ('78 Plymouth Horizon, 4d hatchback) along with 2 tower speakers attached to a brand new Sony Stereo in the console.  Rigged it myself.  Bounding down the street blaring Easy-E and Sir Mix-a-Lot at full base.

Actually, I bought a second pair of 6x9 jensons and a Pioneer dash unit for my 79 Mustang. Did a real install and didn't hybrid the home speakers with the car. I think "Who's Next" was the only cassette ever played in that car and I rewound "Goin' Mobile" about a million times.

Phil, no need to be a jerk to Bryan in TT just cuz he can't spell...

And Cheri, way to go ge all the TT boys excited and leave the COJ boys wishing and waiting...

Winky-smileys are letting someone know that I was teasing.  Ya didn't get that?  If I was a jerk, I would've not had the winky-smiley.

Wait, I'm confused... That's not a winkey-smiley, so are you just teasing? Or are you just happy that you called Phil a jerk and meant it?

You're only as old as the woman you feel ...

Feeling too young of a woman is illegal and just not right.

BTW, I have a working 8 track.

TriAya - 2011-06-21 1:39 PM lotsa good stuff ... I'm treating the tropics very well, and yes yes yes to all on Freddie. And I hear who he was on film, as awesome as it is, is yet a small shadow of who he was live.

Hiya darlin'.  Love your suntan pic in the other thread.  Almost had to do a scout break on that one.

That's how you break monitors...

SNERK!!!

I love you boys. And Crowny, nearly fell off my chair when I read you'd been together 15 years ... I always think of you as my age ... and I always think of my age as how old I act ...

Oh yea.  I agree.  Sometimes I'm lucky if I act older than 18.

I'm fortunate that I don't look my age either.

Both, Phil is a nice guy and he's a spelling/grammar jerk.

LockOut - 2011-06-22 2:46 AM I don't want to be at work right now... I just want to go ride my bike on this gorgeous day. Anyone want to take over building this highway for me? Thanks in advance.

I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride my bike!

You ride bike.

I ride you.

Deal?

Sounds good, Freddie Merc.
