Ghoulies are workin' out in July! (Page 6)

Absolutely good for staying in! 97 here today. I told the kids to start drinking as soon as they got up, and to make sure they took their water jugs (bigger than normal water bottles) to soccer today. I also told them to drink plenty this afternoon. My son also has Jiu Jitsu tonight, and he works up a sweat there, don't want dehydrated kiddos!

Yes, this heat and heat index is just awful.  I played tennis in it last night for 2.5 hours.  I was drenched as if I had just done the swim portion of a tri, and felt like I had finished a sprint tri by the time I was finished with the three sets.  It was a great match, but I am sore today from some stretching for shots.  Ow. 

Kim - so glad to hear that kitty is doing so much better.

Anne - dehydrated kids is no good.  Yes to lots and lots of water.  I hope they are good listeners, but knowing you, I'm sure they are.  One more day until dinner with hot british soccer coaches.

Amy - Thanks for the anniversary wishes.  Spotty internet driving to Idaho seems pretty normal.  If there aren't any people close by, then no internet.  Those wild animals don't know what to do with it. 

Tom - Yes, close that door occassionally.  Mine is open about 95% of the time, so the staff all do wonder what I'm up to when it is closed.  LOL

Robin - Go laundry, go laundry!  But then that was yesterday wasn't it.  Today is vampire day.  I have vampire day next week. 

Nealindy - gee you guys are missing.  Still waiting to hear how the visit to Canada went.

I swam today!! And at th eoutdoor pool, to boot. We have a membership at lifetime fitness, and have had it for a year and a half, but this is the first time I had ever even been onthe pool deck outside, let alone actualy IN the outdoor pool. 

My shoulder's still a little sore--I haven't swum in about 8 weeks, and I quit going to PT about 4 weeks ago (I know. Nurses make the worst patients...). And I tweaked my shoulder hanging up clean laundry last Friday. I didn't do the workout per the training plan, but I did the warmup and cooldown. That counts for something, right?

Yes it counts. You must stop doing laundry, it is hazardous to your health.

I am out of here today. No workouts for me AGAIN. Chit, I had better get rid of this pestilence ASAP. I was just looking. I have been on antibiotics for 4 our of the last 6 weeks. Three different rounds.I was told again that absolutely no swimming for 2 weeks and no workouts longer than 45 minutes. Hmph. Have they seen my calendar???????

I won't be around much, if any tomorrow. Taking my mom in for some arthoscopic knee surgery. This makes 4 knee surgeries for her in the last 3 summers. She is pretty tired of it. 

Off to the Inn tonight where everyone knows my name.

Wow. Quiet day. Mom's surgery went swimmingly. Now I am gonna take a nap and head for the afternoon/ night shift. Since it is knee surgery and she is 83, there is no staying alone. I am gonna read and nap.

Crazy busy at the library.  Guess it is too hot outside, so they have all come in for the air conditioning. 

Glad to hear that mom's surgery went well.  Hopefully this will be her last knee surgery.  Wow, 3 in three years.

WOW!!! TOPPAGE!!!

Hi guys...Neal left a few days ago and now I'm in full on taper mode. Currently planning my next few trips to see Neal. I'm meeting him in Vegas on the 31st to go shopping and fly to Ames before starting school. Then his sister's wedding and then to MEXICO in October!

Sad melindy/neal. Sounds like you two have some good plans to look forward to, though.

I'm kinda tired. But guess what? I have been sticking to my training plan all week so far! Do you think that's why I'm tired?

We had a wonderful evening with our dinner guests. I think they had a good time, too, they stayed until 9:45. They are welcome to come back to my house anytime. We ate, we played, we talked. They got to hold 2 day old peeps. They caught fireflies with the kids. They took 4-wheel rides. They loved Milo and Wynn. It was a good night.

I did think about making a salad. We had plenty of food! I would rather make too much than not have enough.

One of the guys was 19, it was his first time in the states. He had never had a brownie before. He had 3 last night. They all were infatuated with the fireflies, too.

What?!?!?!? Never had a Brownie!!!!!

A friend who just came from England was freaked out the first time she saw a field of fire flies. She had no idea what they were until she called me thinking she was hallucinating. She could not wrap her mind around the  fact that they were bugs until we wen out and we caught a few. I also didn't know that in most of the UK they have no night sounds from bugs or frogs at all. I can't imagine a summer with out those night noises.
