This is probably a stupid question but is there a way to bookmark or mark this forum some way so that I don't have to search for it every time I log on? Thanks!

Today I swam 650 meters, mostly with flippers on trying to practice breathing, it didn't go very well. Rode the stationary bike at the Y for 30 minutes and it said I went 11.1 miles then ran 4 miles.

I have a 10k approaching on Feb 18th... that should be extremely interesting since the Holidays and the month of December, training was nonexistent.

Just remember its not the distance that kills you its the speed, if you feel you haven't put the training in just listen to your body and not your watch.

Nice early goal though

Thanks! It is definitely the speed, which could lead to a total melt down. Especially when I know my old PR. It'll be all about the ego.

selenag- nice work out! I just book marked the page ( command (or ctrl if you have a PC) + D) for firefox at least.

My motivational video.  I saw some others and I love them.  However this one still gives me chills, and makes my throat tighten.  Between the music and the speech if I can't get up for some activity after this speech, then I'm doing it wrong.  Which I could get it in mp3 format to put in my headphones while I run or bike.

Enjoy...

Also there is this one by a high school coach that really gets my blood pumping too.  With the "Last of the Mohicans" soundtrack playing behind him....maybe a little corny and sure he's reading from a page, but it still works for me.  Audio isn't the best hence the subtitles.  He gets louder as the speech goes on.

Hope one of these helps to get you up and out training.  I know they do me.

Took a spining class this morning and had my butt handed to me.  Went 18 miles at an average of 18.1 with a make speed of 31.2  I have a feeling that it will be just as fun the next time I go.  I start the 16 week sprint 2x in the morning.  so i will let you know how I feel when I get done.  This will be a first for me doing any type of training plan.

Made it to the pool this afternoon.  I got in a good 2450m.  I was supposed to go on an hour run when I got home tonight but just not feeling it and I've got way to much studying to do.  I'll make up the run tomorrow and throw in some time on the trainer.

Is there a particle training program or plan that you have really liked and worked well for you? I have printed out a basic 13 week sprint tri training plan, but I was expecting to be putting in more workout hours than they list. What is the average amount of time you put into training each day? Thanks! STACEY

I got my simming confidence back yesterday evening, I'm swimming four time a week, one session I swim not stop 100 lengths (18m pool ) and the other I do this:-

First 50 lengths

- 2 ordinary lengths, breath every third stroke

- 1 speed,  no breathing

Take a break sauna, jacuzzi hamst, quads and itb stretches

Next 30 lenghts

- Continuous 30 not stop breathing every third stroke

Last 20

- 4 x 5 lengths as fast as I can (1.30min per set) breath every 5th stroke

Can any one comment on the above, is this a good routine? what benefits will it give me.

I missed my run this morning as the wee girl was up all night, my arches in my feet are also hurting fro mthe orths so I'll do 60 min on the cross trainer this evening along with 60 min core work.

Thanks. I have been. I over pronate and use the Asics Kayanos with the Super feet inserts. They help significantly. Unfortunately all my work outs are at that HR. Need to slow down, but >9min miles are an all time slow for me. It's more of a mental thing, but I have the old attitude when I could hammer out 7-7:15 min miles no problem.... that was only 5-7 yrs ago too.

Last night was cold so I hit the treadmill just to get some activity in.  Have I mentioned how much I hate running on treadmills?  I think its the fact that you don't pass anything, or have any landmarks to run to so mentally for me there are no small victories to be had.

30 mins at a 10 mph pace....

I really hate treadmills.
