Awesome HalfMarathonDon!  And good for you Tyler!  I was at a meeting last night, and it felt good to be accepted and talk with people battling the same thing.   Have you gone to anymore meetings?

Good on you.  Awesome that you got through a very trying time and didn't relapse to using the crutch of booze.  Keep up the great job, one day at a time.

I've gone a week now with out a drink of the grape.

Excellent, keep it up!

21 years...wow, that's amazing.

Only got there because... "today I haven't found it necessary to take a drink".

"meeting makers make it"  keep checking them out till you find one that fits.

What I found was rather than looking at how the others were different form me, I had to listen  for what was similar.

Today marks 7 weeks without a drink.  I actually just started out wanting to take a week off after drinking heavily 7 out of 8 consecutive days, but I noticed my training improving and not even wanting a drink when I went out, and it feels great!  Not to mention saving money for this new sport called triathlon that I learned can get expensive!  I'm not sure if it's for forever, but right now I'm just happy with not NEEDING alcohol to have a good time when I go out.  I've noticed that ordering a diet coke in a short glass looks a LOT like a Jack & Coke, and nobody's the wiser.

Awesome!

And, in time, you'll notice that nobody ever really cares what you're drinking anyway

That's awesome!  I actually quit keeping track, just taking it one day at time.
