2013 IMTX (Page 6)

Volunteered the past two years at the 2nd water stop on the bike course.  This is going to be my first Ironman race and will be signing up shortly.  Can't wait!

I'm using this race to raise money for first responders and their families who've been injured or killed while in the line of duty.

So I guess this is the 2013 "Official Thread" without the long name now..

Now that registration is open and WTC seems to have resolved all/any issues they had with the communities and towns along the routes when will the final course map be available? Just wondering if the bike course will change at all, as from the rumors there were issues with some town(s) along the bike route. Just wondering if anyone knows if the route will change at all, as I am assuming the swim and run will stay as is.

Final courses will probably be available on May 17th. 

Probably the only guarantee is the swim will remain the same.  The run course literally changed three times in the final week.  I think the bike course changed once or twice as well.

Yup.  I think the other guarantee would be the waterway section of the run stays or maybe that's wishful thinking.  That area was electric.

I thought the course changes were due to the elections this year?  Watching the last two years has been great. Can't wait to actually do it in May.

I thought the run course down on the waterway was really cool...looked like a party almost the entire time.

Trigger pulled ... IMTX #3 for me .. why stop the streak.. I figure if I do it enough times maybe one day I will be able to put all 3 disciplines together into one solid race! haha

Half right. The loop through Market street was removed due to merchants. The additional changes were made due to elections and the fact that some considered the course to block a polling location.
