Random question: what's goofier:

British Olympic commentators tacking an extra "R" onto everything (poor Canadar...)

or

Bob Costas?

Hmmm that's tough. That R thing is going to be unreal.

Bob Costas.

Winner!

Edit: if you're from Boston, you can remove that "R" too.

Bob Costas.

There ain't much goofier than Bob Costas.

But I've always giggled that a number of Brits (and Aussies too) hack the R off the end of any self-respecting word that has it, but feel like they have to give those poor lost R's a home and hence tack them onto any word ending with a vowel ...

probably why I'm a fatty mcfatterson...  2/3 my day's calories 2-4 hrs before I go to bed.

Side note:  My wife heard that taking multivitamins with iron undermine synthroid.  Too bad it was two days AFTER I dropped 12 bucks on a bottle of one-a-days.  I'm glad she found that out.  I guess she's worth keeping around a while longer!

I'm thinking my endocornologist might have mentioned that?

did you already open them?  return that crap.

yes...

I will double check to see if they have iron in them.  But what self respecting multi vitamin wouldn't have iron in it?

I may need to do a bit more research.  I'm supposed to take the synthroid early with water on an empty stomach.  Maybe I can take my multi later in the day or evening after the synthroid has been well absorbed?  I'm not sure.

Many and most don't. You usually need to specifically buy Iron containing vitamins. However, magnesium is also a +2 metal and that also can chelate drugs and react with iodine.

Get the specifics of what you have bought and ask your doc. Meanwhile, multi vitamins have mixed reviews as to benefit. I take one and always have figuring it's no harm. But I still have my original thyroid.

Yep. Depends on the multivit, though. A number of them have quite a bit of iron, but then will be low on the calcium. Or vice versa. But no self-respecting multivitamin will be high (at least not more than 50% with the other at 100%) in both.

Between you and I.  It's more my "happy" pill.  My wife believes in them and is constantly on me to take it so when I do, it makes her happy.  So there you go.  A happy wife is a happy home.

I'll give you that.  He's not bad in front of the camera, which is why they put him there.

He needs to stick to baseball, though.  He does know his stuff in that.  That's where he got his start.

I'm going to make a confession.  Blast away if you want.

But I don't like poetry.  I don't get it, I don't understand it, or the desire to write it...  There, said it.

(now the occasional dirty limeric!)

I like music, which I guess is peotry set to music.  I like reading a LOT.  But any charm in poetry escapes me.  I think the only poetry book I ever like Dr. Zuess (does that count?)  And where the sidewalk ends.  Yes, both for kids.

I see poetry on this site, and don't even try to read it.  And when Dr Maya Angelou gets on a role, I respect her, but tune out at the first bit of it.

And those poetry jams?  Forgetaboutit.  Send me to the dentist or a 4 hr church revival.  At least there you get to see some wackos flopping around.

Speaking of that, I want to go to one of those churches that bust out the poisonous snakes...  Now THAT'S a show!

OK,

Bob Costas vs Chris Berman?

Chirs Berman had his "schtick" for a moment.  But he is impossible to listen to now.  And he anounces GOLF in that same whacky style.

He really has become a parody of himself...  Weird he hasn't moved on from that.

Teejaay - 2012-07-26 4:02 PM I don't like poetry either. Or classical or jazz music. Irritates me. I don't like yoga. I don't like wine. I don't like to wear heels. There. Clearly I am not cultured in any way.

Depends on the Jass.  "smooth" Jass is ok (Sade, Chris Botti, etc).   But that freestyle try-to-get-as-many-notes-in-as-fast-as-you-can stuff with no discernable melody?  Don't get it.  Is that fusion?  Not sure.

I like classical, and wine (but prefer coctails).  I don't wear heels either (they make me too tall).  I have like a few operas and modern musicals.  Not a big orchestra goer.  I don't put on a suit unless it's a special occasion.  I'm a "cultured as required" kind of guy.

Mud bogging, WWE, gater wrestling, and monster truck pulls?

Or are you the outdoorsie lumberjack championships and/or log rolling kind of chick?

I want to know what kind of date I would take you on.

Anyone remember the days there was so much outrage about TAN?  That is was nonsense and artificial post count padding?  There was a battle about it.

Now it just goes unoticed, basically.  Funny what things people would care so much about one second and forget about the next.

Boy, did they.

They worried that having a high post count would make new people think their opinions were more valid than those with lower counts.  So people in TAN were getting huge numbers without talking about triathlon.

All kinds of crazy ideas came up, like only give people credit for posts made in tri talk or something...

Ah, I miss the witch hunt days.  Sigh.

Yes!!!!! All of that and more of the like. I just started hillbilly hand fishing. Awesome.

I was seriously getting hooked on Moonshiners.

I like the first few seasons of Sons of Guns out of Luisiana, but now it's getting just too produced/set up to even PRETEND to be a "reality" show.
