Good morning TAN.

I took my 11 year old shooting for the first time on Sat and she loved it. Not a bad shot for her first time out shooting a real gun with iron sites. She was learning on an air soft rifle with a scope.

Saw her target on FB. I'd say she did better than "not bad"!

ya she did great! She's so small she can't hold up a bigger rifle so she has to use that one untill we make it out to the desert where she can use a shooting table with my 10/22 with a scope on it

My mom taught me how to shoot when I was 12 and it's still one of my favorite memories. Bet it'll be great times for your girl, too.

Ya she loved it and I am working at getting her to be more self reliant and confident. So besides just doing it for fun I hope it empowers her a bit.

I got the boyfriend an annual membership to a local gun range for Christmas. Now I need to find him a .22. He has a Walther PK380, but the ammo is expensive. I want him to be able to got to the range without having to spend much $$.

Oooh Looks like the planes wi-fi has let me back on BT. How is everybody today?

What do you see out the window? Clouds probably...

What seat are you in?

nope no clouds. I see Texas Hey did it snow? I miss snow!!

Texas is a fun state to fly over.  If you look closely and you see little dirt roads running all over the place in the middle of no-where, it's probably an oil field.  If you look closer you may see wind turbines.

You should be able to see the Grand Canyon, Humphries Peak, and Meteor Crater if you're on the right (Starboard) side of the plane.

Texas is NEVER fun to fly over. It's super boring. Now, Colorado is cool.

Colorado is cool once you get to the front range (traveling west).  Until then, it is.....Kansas

Wrong. Texas is great to fly over; landing there is horrible.

Hi Gorgeous!

Have you recovered from your awesome performance over the weekend?  I only ask as I know that I'd be sore for DAYS after attempting something so impressive!

My spinal erector muscles were a little sore yesterday and I tweaked my hip but other than that I wasn't sore so Yeah I am pretty much recovered thank you! Did you have a nice restful weekend? Other than the Yanti watching that is.

How are your shins? Mine are a bruised mess! I worry for your hip area and all the muscles around it. Rest that up. It sucks to have continuous nagging issues with that area. Otherwise ...how'd it go??????? Do tell.

My shins are fine, I had to wear knee socks for the deadlift. It was art of the rules, incase you scrape yourself with the bar you don't bleed on it. I did OK, Not as well as I had hoped but I put up numbers in each of the lifts and I won my division. I was the only one in it so the only requirement was that I put up numbers. I was 3 or 4th overall total lift wit 282.5 or 622 lbs My squat was not impressive but I played it conservative cause I blew my first 2 attempts, nerves and inexperience and such. My bench was ok at 165 but not my best day. Deadlift best completed was 292 lbs with gas in the tank but I wanted to finish strong for my first competition. My husband says I deadlift like a boss! He's a little biased though. I learned a lot and I know where I need to work on things so it's now Game ON!! next years competition I want to be able to deadlift 400 lbs.

And Thanks for all the encouragement guys I really appreciate it!

I don't think that's true.  If you flattened out both states, they'd probably be about the same.  Texas has mountains.  They're just not near the major cities.

Also, if we're dealing in really goofy hypotheseses, If Texas had never given New Mexico to the United States, Texas would be bigger than Alaska... Just sayin.

And Thanks for all the encouragement guys I really appreciate it!

Sounds like you did really really well! And now you've new goal to strive for!!! I'm sticking to the "just want to lift my body weight" path....that's a plenty! And focus on the Olympic lifts. Great job though ...very impressive. Those are very good numbers and at your first competition. Yay! Next time I shall protect my shins ...I scraped em and drew some blood but that means I'm doing it right, right?

Thanks!! That is why they make the lifters wear kneesocks in the deadlift, so they don't get blood on the bar. I don't actually bring it right up my shins, I am out just a little bit but the bar does come up my thighs on that part of the lift. I did scrape my knee n the wrm up though. Lifting your body weight is an excellent goal, more power to you. I hope you get there without any issues. My hip is actually doing much better, I have been having piriformis and sciatic issues for a while now. I need to do way more stretching!!!

I don't think the P90X is insulting.  I like that idea.

We have two speaker/chargers for our phones at home.  One is a stand-up speaker, it's really nice.  Not bluetooth though.  It produces great sound from your iphone.
