So Fresh So Clean - 2006-12-11 3:00 PM Here's a good challenge... Who's up for doing a double? That's right, a swim in the morning AND the afternoon. Last year I was doing 13.5km a day doing this. I reserve my doubles for next week, but there will be some.

If I tried that, I would have to spend all the time between the workouts eating!

Sorry - Without even looking at the Pool schedule I know I can't fit it in this time of year (Christmas shopping and the like).  Good luck with it!

Spreadsheet Updated

Hannahs sent me a PM earlier this week to let me know that she has joined the Carolina team.

I just noticed that the dates on the spreadsheet are Sundays, not Mondays.  Not sure why I thought we were to update them on Monday nights... ah well.

What's nice to see is that most everyone is getting out there and getting their swims in.  Some folks need some Inspriring so please review the spreadsheet and do some inspiring of your own.

Steve

Maybe this should be kept under wraps until next spreadsheet (for you know, a suprise attack), but I cannot count.

I just noticed in my race last wednesday that I swam 100m more than I had logged for the purposes of the challenge (where the correct distances of the day was listed in the comments). D'OH! Embarassed

So I've got another swim planned in for tonight.  Hopefully I can get in another 2500m or so.  That would bring me up to almost half my goal.  Then as long as I get in one more swim this week and 2 next week I should be sitting back over the x-mas holiday's in sunny Texas visiting my wifes parents.  Hopefully the weather is nice and I can get in a few runs .

Just got another 1600m in.. and a nice surprise - a PB on my 1500m time.

That puts me well above halfway for the challenge.  Should be done by the time we go out of town

I've hit a milestone and I think I can loosely call myself a swimmer now ...

Before tonight, my longest continuous swim was 400m and tonight at our practice we had a continous 1500m swim. Our normal practices are around 2000m but I hadn't been able to test how long I could go without stopping. Well tonight I finished in 35 minutes and totally shocked myself. It's not fast by no means but I didn't collaspe on the pool deck when it was over! Quite an improvement from being able to swim only 50 m at the beginning of September. Paying for instruction is worth every penny!

 Goooo Masters swim classes!!

1600 IM ?? All I can say is wow!

I'm not sure I'd want to try a 400 'fly anymore.

Congrats..........isn't it nice to know that you have the endurance to cover the distance.  Speed will come with time in the water.

Wow... that is some improvement! I haven't seen an improvement like that EVER! Not even with little kids who can take 10sec off their 200m time easily! Good work!

And as for the IM, it was more like a 250m fly after all the underwater I did.

Juhuuuuu, I have completed the challenge Just had my last swim of the year and I made my goal and did an extra 50m So now I can go on vacation in peace knowing that I did not let the team down.

Actually I finished the year in style. I did a 1500m test and I absolutely killed my PB, I knocked 32 seconds of Happy, happy, happy

Now go team, don’t let the others catch up, show them what us “Northerners” are made of.

We're not worthy. Very impresed Greg, I reckon the big push and kick underwater counts as just as knackering as doing the fly.

Good work Mesteren! Highly impressed.

I need to be on schedule. It's almost the 15th, and I"m 1/4 done my goal! I will swim a lot more in the 2nd half, that's for sure.

Don't worry, we'll take them by surprise. Next week I have 4 or 5 workouts of 90-120 min planned. That should be 25k easy.
