Wow. you guys run some serious numbers. I ran that kind of mileage when training for the marathon, but for whatever reason my triathlon plan doesn't call for that much running at this point. I am following the 13 week beginning triathlon plan.

Anyway it looks to me like my plan calls for 25 miles of running in March, so that will be my goal.

I feel like that is nothing, am I doing something wrong?

by the contrary, you are doing it just right. You have looked at a well layed out plan and chosen to focus on making sure you make your run numbers this month. I am still training for my first 1/2 IM so that brings up my numbers. We also have at least one of the group doing an IM in the fall, so that explains alot. I guess it all depends on the plan you choose

Put me down for 30 miles. March is going to be a crazy month for me as I get that dissertation in its final form.

something to keep in mind, to me at least, the run challange dose not mean we should stop ridding or swimming. I actualy hope to get in the water a few times this month!

I opened my mouth so the game is on, but I just looked at the last 2 months of training. I will be doubling my output of miles this month if I can hit my goals This should be interesting, especaily since I do not want my biking numbers to suffer in the process

You want us to run, swim, and bike?
What do you think we are doing? Training for a triathlon?
Crazy!

GUESS WHAT EVERYONE?????

Amy finally went back to the Y, I had been so intimidated the last two times I hadn't went back for 3 weeks. But I found a good time if I can work it out 2-3 times a week. I actually had my own lane and could relax, and enjoy my time in the water. It was great!

Next is getting on my bike.

And yes Breezy, you would think we were training for a triathlon....hmmm...go figure. ha

How is everyone feeling?

Amy

Ok, I need help on this. I read this a while back and can't remember the information. Lap swimming in a 25 meter pool, I read somewhere that the goal was to get to a min. of so many strokes per length of the pool. My question is: Is it 20 per, or more or less???? Has anyone read this or is anyone working on this?????

It truly is an idividaul number. What is important is that you are aware generaly of your stroke count and try to keep it low.

I have another question. Monday I did a hard ab workout (for background you should know I rarely work my abs, somethign I need to work on) and now two days later I am still very sore especially my side and obliques.

I was planning on taking another boot camp like class from the same guy, this one is full body but also includes abs etc.

Is it bad to workout so soon if I am in this much pain?

when is the next boot camp? My personal rule of thumb is that tender is ok, major pain and an inability to function is not. Normaly when you over due a workout like you did on Monday, it lasts about 2-3 days tops. After that you should be able to go again, but be careful. Recognize you are week in the abs and factor that in durring the workout. I would also suggest talking to the instructor for his point of view.

not sure where it went.  I did see it and you had a pink square. I would reenter it and report the problem to Marmadaddy. May be a new glitch in the software. Also, did you do any editing to the blog that might have delited it?

Hey Group,
We are off and running...good luck to everyone! Let's do it, spring is right around the corner. I want us all to reach our goals and have a wonderful summer of health...

I can tell you yesterday I "DID NOT WANT TO RUN". I was tired and just wanted to hit the lazy boy, but I did the 10 min. rule, and I ended up going 35 min. It wasn't a great run, but I feel better that I did it.

I have a hard time on weekends getting my workouts in because I'm running my son to basketball tourneys, but this weekend I'm going to work them in, promise.

I would like to congratulate all of you for getting going on your month goals for running this month. I tallyed the numbers through the end of Saturday for the first week. Any runs on Sunday or Monday will count on this first full week of March.  Keep in mind, any long runs this Sunday, will need to keep the daytlights savings time change in acount Nothing like loosing an hour to train while you sleep

Please let me know if there are any corrections. I did notice some walking miles logged as walking, so please make sure they stand out with the miles in your blog so I know how to credit you. When logged as a walk, the miles do not show.  As always keep up the good work.

I'm back...I had four days of injury & special populations pilates training. It was good but very long days pretty much just sitting & listening. No work outs...but no chance of overeating either so it balanced out. I thought I would have time to log something, but nope.

Hope everyone is doing well....keep running!

Now that we've been at this for 2 months....

What training plan is everyone using?
What is your primary (A) race?

I just imported the 20 week sprint 3X balanced plan. I'm going to give that a whirl for a few weeks and see if feels right. I am planning on registering for the mini-Mussel Sprint tri on July 14th.

I'm using the 13 week sprint plan in order to prepare for a sprint race in mid-May/ early June,
but honestly that isn't my A race, as I am fairly sure I could finish a sprint race right now.

I am using the program as a way to build up the distances so over the summer I can do a spring/olympic bridge to get ready for either the Los Angeles or Las Vegas Olympic triathlon in September.
