Sounds great to me....I will do the shirts. I own a sign/screenprinting business, so we come up with a design, it's as good as done. Hey, better yet lets come up with something for our mentor group!!!!!!

I guess I need computer training pre 101, how do you cut and paste. Help!!!!
Sure, another new friend to visit with and to share thoughts.

1. Put the mouse arrow at the beginning of what you want to copy.

2. Click and HOLD DOWN the LEFT mouse button. DRAG it across all the text that you want to copy. The text should be highlighted in blue. When all the text is highlighted, release the mouse button. (The text should still be highlighted.)

3. At the top of your screen, click EDIT. Then click COPY.

4. Go to your log. Put the mouse arrow at the location where you want the text. Click the left mouse button once. (The blinking cursor indicator should be in the correct location.)

5. At the top of your screen, click EDIT. Then click PASTE.

6. Save your changes.

Eric,

What do you think of some kind of group training shirt? We could all work together on the design/quote, I could email a proof to everyone. I could print a 1-color design for about $6.00 each + shipping, if we want a two color design it would be about $9.00 + shipping.

If we do fine and if we don't fine...I don't want to be pushy. But lets do them....yea...ok ha

I LOVE the idea of a tee shirt...as if I don't have enough of finisher's tee shirt I can wear an awesome group around and brag about it   Let's do it!!!

Thanks for the warm welcome.  When I read Eric's introduction and your interaction, I hoped you would accept a new membor.

NAME: Emerson Knowles (etknowles)

STORY: In March of 2003, the morning my wife's mother died from a sudden stroke, I walked in the door of my home to find my wife on the floor sticken by a crippling stroke - yes, a bizzar conincidence.  The quest to find a new "normal" life brought us to move from Cincinnati (where winters of snow or ice weere a bad mix for wheelchair and cane) to move to Tucson Arizona.  While looking for a home there, I looked in the mirror and saw a plump 49 year old (5'5" and 185, ouch), looked at my wife's effort to learn to read, write and walk again and determined I was an idiot not to live my fullest for every day of the rest of my life. I was nine months cancer free then.  Now, two and a half years later, I am 35 pounds lighter and feeling the best I have to my memory.  I look to share what I have learned, relish in your successes and hope you will help me with my periodic fall-offs in my program -- I don't like swimming.

FAMILY STATUS: 51, Married with two daughters, one 26 and the one 23 who got married last summer.  I live in Tucson for 8 months a year and Cincinnati four.

CURRENT TRAINING: I have a great coach and PT in Scottsdale.  I use a garmin 305 for all the road work and track HR, etc.  It has been a great tool.  In AZ I get in about 8 - 10 hours a week into some form of training depending on work, home etc. When on Business travel or in OH it is spotty.  I am in OH now, work all day, dinners/meetings at night.  I look forward to getting back to AZ next week.

GOALS:  I will run the Lost Dutchman marathon on 2/17 and the Big Sur on 4/27.  In between I am doing a full tri training regime and will pick out my first later in the spring.  The longer term goal is a 1/2 iron man next year to celebrate 5 years cancer free.

THIS YEAR'S RACES:  P F Changs 1/2 marathon Phoenix, Lost Dutchman marathon Apache Junction AZ, Heart Mini-marathon Cincinnati, Air Force 1/2 marathon Dayton Ohio, Tucson 1/2 marathon Tucson AZ, Salt Lake City Marathon, New York Marathon and a couple more that I just cannot remember at the moment.

2008 RACES:   Lost Dutchman marathon, Big Sur Marathon, Air Force Marathon... and some tris when I pick them out.

I will update my training logs, goals, etc. later this week.

Your partner in this great enterprise of life,

Emerson Knowles

Welcome Emerson... sorry about your mom and your wifes conditio.

Congratulations on almost being 5 years cancer free! Glad to have you as part of the group. Look forward to your inter-action. Looks as though you have particpated in many races and will have some good knowledge to pass on. Great job on being able to stay focused on training with all that has been going on in your life.

Take care,

Julie

Julie,

Thanks for the supportive words.  Two weeks ago, we traded e-mails over the fellow who did the amazing tri for his wife with cancer.  I did not know you were in the group.  What a small world.

I think I followed your direction perhaps our work computer won't do it. It copies but, nothing when I try and paste on my log. Mike

Mike,

It took me a couple of tries to cut and paste the list -- and even longer to get each of you into my friends list.  Highlight and then hit Control and "C" at the same time.  Once done, open your training log, put the curser in the goals and hit control "V".  It is tricky, but it worked... good luck, Emerson

Well, we've got our strong runner now....I think Emerson's running experience blows away the rest of us.

I know how important your 5 year anniversary is to you and I can't think of a better way to celebrate it than by competing.  That's really what life is all about---fight hard no matter what comes your way or lay down and take it.  I like my odds a lot better when I'm fighting!

The problem is I am stuck at work for 6 hours with a computer and no homework and nothing else to do except entertain myself with BT and dreaming about the race season....have any ideas on how to keep me busy?

Sure...come up with a simple yet absolutely impossible to live with out invention that will make us all wealthy.  We can quit our jobs and train full time....how's that for a homework assignment?

1) I can send you some of MY work.

2) You could have experimented with the links table. (That should have killed a few hours easy. LOL)

As for the links table, I just got online. I'll update it now.

Will post it in a few.

Eric, in your post above I see the beginnings of a Master Post Count Padder!

*sniff sniff*... Someday, I'll be able to look back and say, "I remember Eric when he only had a mere 577 posts. Ah, yes, I remember it well...."

Be careful. Next, you'll be experimenting with stuff like this:

Good Evening Glitter Graphics

(I'll go work on the table now. I have some glitter background for it already. Hah!)
