1stTimeTri - 2008-12-16 11:29 PM Kristin's AOL here, too.  She must be staring at those ChiTown lights.

AOL?

or AWOL?

hmmmm

I'm so confused................

I can claim "absent or liquored" but it should have been AWOL.

heh - too bad Kristin isn't here, she would have had great fun with this

I was both absent and liquored to be honest. I met 2Goggs for a swim, although it was rather funny - he had no goggs, so the swim was short. We decided to eat and grab some drinks so it was a three makers on the rocks night for me. It's a good way to beat the cold!

Vixens, I have bad news. I think I have an ear infection. I had an earache all day monday, attributed it to flying. Then yesterday afternoon it came back really suddenly, like a migraine only in my ear and the side of my head, and it literally made me sick. I had to lie down for about 30 minutes. I swam after and realized it was a bad choice right away. If it is an infection, I may be out of the pool, which was my limiter for the month. I can't risk anything lingering into January and my IM training. Sorry Vixens

Oh that is not good.  Go to the docs asap!  First and foremost take care of yourself.  I hope your ear feels better soon.   Ear infections are no fun!!!

It really is. Plus I'm away from home and trying to enjoy friends, which is hard to do when you feel like carp. I slept in today, which made my work day hell, but I'm thankful for the sleep. I'm so loaded up on sudafed that I can't eat. So that's not great. But I want to try to dry up whatever's hanging around in my head.

I might get some ear plugs and try a swim tomorrow to see how it feels. I'm going to be really bummed if swimming isn't possible. It's all I will have access to in Michigan, which means I'm in for a very long week.

Oooh honey (sorry thats the first thing that came to mind) I don't know if ear plugs would be a good idea.  That might be messing with pressure issues and could possibly cause more problems, I'm not a doc but not sure that would be a good idea.  Have you gone to see a doc yet?  Or gone to a walk in clinic?

I did, I'm in Gordo Byrn's group.  Have not met him yet but it looked like it would be a good group for a newb. to join.

Walt your group wasn't up yet when I joined.   Why do they wait and stagger the mentor group sign ups?  Would it not be better to put them all up at once so peeps could read bios and decide which group whould fit them best.  Maybe put mentor bios up first so everyone has a chance to read them and then a few days later open it up to let people join?

They did that originally but what would happen was some people would get a full group straight away and others would stay empty quiet for ages... also there are so many to go through it makes it a bit hard to find who was open...

The other thing is as we get closer to the new year you get more people join BT with new years resolutions etc and if you release them all at the same time there wont be any left for them... a lot of long term Bters also join the groups with mentors for longer distances etc

Not sure if thats the official reason but it seems to be how they go about it!
