I'm doing a presentation on chair yoga at the senior citizen center in town on Wednesday, and I really need to go prep for it.  As much as I hate to go, I must step away from BT for awhile.

OK, time to shut down for the night.  Hopefully will be able to sleep tonight.  Must remember to turn phone off.  That's what did me in week before last.

Gute nacht fur jeczt (good night for now).

disturbed275 - 2009-10-04 3:30 PM My mom is making baked spaghetti for dinner tonight.  That pan isn't going to know what hit it

what a good mommy you have!!! nothing better then pasta after a big workout or long run!!! we had left over lasagne as soon as we got home...then went to the festival and had some amazing eats! my brother had all this food waiting on us....I brought a bottle of high end tequilla, a few beers and a bottle of wine...as well as some brie, goat cheese, salami and crackers....

She's great!  She even brought the food downstairs to me while I was plopped in front of the tv.  And she brought me a big bowl of ice cream later.  Been kind of a bummer having to fetch all of my own food today

serendipity - 2009-10-04 8:43 AM Got my first run of the month done this morning.  Just 2 miles, and slow, but it's done!

Way to go Debbie!

Neal!  How'd ya do today?

Impatient for results TOPpage

Great!  Finished in 3:20:08 and set a 22 minute PR!  Was on pace for a BQ until about mile 17 or so when things sorta started going downhill.  Perhaps I'll figure out this pacing thing in another marathon or 2.....

Taking 22 minutes off is huge!  Congratulations!

yes indeed! so how many marathons have you run, Neal?

That was just marathon #2, hence the big PR.  This is actually only my second season of racing so I been setting some pretty decent PRs all summer long.

skrtrnr - 2009-10-05 11:53 AM i'm sorry GHOULIES.

i cant come out and play today.

i have a spare room that needs a-tending to.  ya know. the xtra room where you stash all your xtra stuff until you find that all the xtra stuff is just everywhere, haphazardly filling the space.

ive decided, i cant put it off any longer, i need to bring order to the chaos.  and today (and tomorrow and quite possibly wednesday) is the day that im gonna face the beast!

but.....

i wanted to report in.

it was an AQUATHON-Y sorta day today.

2.5 mile run followed by a 1400 yd swim followed by a 2.1 mile run.

RUN HAPPY!  i sure did!

Nice run-swimmy-run!  And your reward for getting that done is, uh, cleaning.  That seems more like punishment

this gets my vote!

Good morning GHOULIES!!!! I wish I would have read this yesterday before I got up at 4:20 this morning to get ready for work. Frown

DANG!!!!! do you go to bed at 7pm? that is one early morning rise! is it so you could run before working...or is this a normal time for you to get up??

That's my normal time to get up. I get up early so I can get my workday over with early, so I can go home and do the things I actually WANT to do. I usually go to bed around 9 or so, not long after the kiddos go to bed. I don't mind it, at least for now. Going to work early will allow me to get home and get a run in before it gets dark this winter, that's a definite PLUS.

I'm close to the same schedule.  At work by 6, off at 3 or 4.  It's great for getting in some long rides during the week in the summer.  Now if only I could get to bed by 9......

smiled, danced, smiled more, sang a few songs (sorry to those around me!), made 3 porta potty stops, only walking I did were thru a few of the water stations. My daughter and I finished together hand in hand...both with BIG smiles!

awesome job!!!

thanks Kim! I was soooooooo nervous!

I must have gone to the portapotty at least three times before the race....in a 15 min time span! thank goodness they had LOTS of them! along the run I had to stop three times...dang were there some long lines too! there was one guy who had his garage door opena nd was allowing runners to use the garage bathroom....what a nice guy!

there were people passing out doughnut holes, BACON???!!?? , cookies, mimosas, one home had a keg of beer....plus there were the homes that had the kids set up in the street curb with thier drum sets/keyboards and guitars playing music (not really but goin thru the motions)...there was one home that had a big screen (must have been at least a 72" cuz it was monster size...he had a camera at the finish line....was fun to see the people finishing...but of course we were just wanting to be next to them then~~~

there was one bummer situation...a young girl (20's) on the side of the road...she was less then a mile from the finish...and they were doing cpr on her! 6 medics working frantically on her!!! very sad to think of the family waiting on her....and not having any idea that she was in such grave danger!!!!

oh there was also a house blasting the music from Rockie....when he climbs all those stairs....definitely got a rise from the runners as they passed the house~!

Something about that music you can't help but get pumped up.  Someone was blasting that during the mary too yesterday and I couldn't help but speed up a little bit as I passed

So the question Du Jour (like that french huh? ) is do I go back and read 9 pages I missed or just pretend I read them all and don't worry about post count padding

what about all the schmack talking we did about you!!! dont you want to read that!????

Nah - you can give me a quick briefing of it all if you want   I think I have read it all anyways.  I scanned some and they looked familiar.

I can see 3 or 4 new threads for us by the time we are done.  We are a chatty team!  And just think Neal is recovering from an awesome mary or we would be even further along!

That's no excuse for me.  I think my fingers may be the only part of my body that isn't sore today.  I should be typing up a storm

kns57 - 2009-10-05 12:51 PM The Atlanta 2-Day walk for Breast cancer was this weekend and I spend 8+ hours on the bicycle on Saturday and then 4+ hours on Sunday.  Drove home and then played a 3 set tennis match.  I then ate like a little piggie last night.

No running all weekend, but will try to get one in tonight.

Wow!  Busy weekend.  That's alotta biking!

Heading to Chicago on Wednesday morning for one night, but I hope to get in a run that evening.

No way can I keep up with this thread, so I won't even try! Laughing

Cool!  You gotta love seeing progress like that

ilucy2 - 2009-10-04 6:23 PM Hi there team...!!! I think I left you guys at 43 pages, you have all done WELL!! I did a little run yesterday, further than the plan called for, but less than I was actually set out to do. They have had a nasty couger hanging in the area, some hungry bears, and two wolves. It was either take a loop where there were some houses, or have my gma follow me with a car. Yeah, that is what I want, my own personal overweight running critic!

Nice run!  Glad you didn't become some wild animal's dinner!
Thanks! And to think I actually compared criminals to wild animals. I stated I wanted animals to criminals.....ummm excuse me could you pass me the salt, I am about ready to eat my words.

no need to do that Lucy....remember that some animals are like a pussycat compared to some of those hardened criminals...so, Im not so sure we should pass that salt...yet!!! run safe...do you have somewhere that is heavily travelled with others...so you are not the prime appetizer for these animals???

Yeah at home, but I had this wild hair and wanted to run some of the hills I used to live around. Turns out, I'm good. Driving to town to run seemed just dumb. Next time, I will drive to town and use the treadmill!

Sounds like a great race!!!  I would love to do a race with my mom.

so, whats stopping you? her????

She doesn't run...at least not yet...she can do 11 min miles on the elliptical (sp?) but won't run because she is afraid she will look stupid...I don't understand it but I know I can't force her to do it... she has to get there on her own.  When my aunt was out of town she used the treadmill in their basement, but she won't use one in public or run outside in their neighborhood.

maybe after watching your husband race....watching a marathon is when I started running back in the day....I watched my brother run a marathon...and I was inspired! amazing to see...maybe another way is to get your dad and other family members if you have brothers and sisters to sign up for a holiday race such as a turkey trot...make a short one...they usually have 2-3 miler...and get her to commit with the rest of you...I bet then you can hook her to keep going! maybe?!?!? good luck.

kcarroll - 2009-10-04 1:17 PM Hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday.  The weather was terrific today.  Lots of sun.  I got a swim in early then went out for b'fast.  This afternoon rode the Electra (and yes, she has a wicker basket and bell) up to the town sqaure for the fall festival. I heart kettlecorn.

So now got to go pack.  Am working in Munich for the next couple days and am flying out tonight.  Will try to keep irrational jetlagged but can't sleep posting to a minimum.  Not going to forget the ambien this trip.  Saucony's and Garmin first things going in the bag.

good priorities!  have a good trip

x2~ hope you keep them in your carry on!!! last time I travelled....some of my electronics were missing from my bag! ;( DIRTY THIEVING AIRPORT EMPLOYEES!!! I know they took it!

So very true.  Sorry about losing your stuff.  Hopefully insurance covered and you got new/better gadgets.  I almost never check baggage. After years of this you get pretty good at traveling light.  I can easily manage a week (including workout stuff) in one carry on.  Last time I checked a bag was for a 10 day Alaska cruise.

I wish I could do that...even when I travelled all the time for work...I had to check my items..unless it was for a weekend....and no they denied everything!!! of course. dirty dogs! and I did upgrade...but at my expense! haha
