For Neal (and I guess Amy...Tom...whomever left early today)

We decided "meh" on the issue about non-interest being a reason to not complete challenges (at least I think we decided this and I am summarizing it as "meh")

Ann--is not on her game wit wise due to taper--she failed on a joke about a closet and my gyne lectures...but otherwise is doing good. Had a bunch of stuff on her desk to pack for the marathon on the weekend and did a easy hike and an 8 miler yesterday. BIL might be posted somewhere in WA and someday she might end up coming over to the great Northwest for a visit.

Kim--was busy doing work related stuff this morning. She did an easy 3 miler (arn't you all glad I'm not converting to kms?) and is feeling good trusting the taper plan for the marathon. She has a trusty plan for dealing with telemarketers where she asks them to explain and then puts the phone down.

Robin--DH still in election stuff. Left earlier today to do a run and agrees that firemen are hot. Earlier made a remark about me being in a closet crying over my disapointment which Ann tried to turn into a joke and well we all know what happened there...

Bill--Pretended to be offended over my designation that he is not my type due to the fact that married men with children are not my type. He stated that married men with children were also not his type either. Is contemplating doing a bike thing somewhere near where Robin lives and bringing the family to state at Lake Lure (are least this is what I will state I remember from the conversation somewhere between ovarian and endometrial cancer lecture)...Bill rode home in the rain and wind.

Dee--eats sugary sweet instant oatmeal for bfast, gave Ann some info on some place I can't remember in WA and then had to go work after suggesting something for me to do over my Nov long weekend.

Melissa--is tired. Had 6 hrs of lecture today. Went to the gym over lunch and felt like a pansy. I have to drive my Mom around for a few days because her car is not working. She bought me coffee this morning to make up for my early wake up. I was the topic of Ann's joke about a closet because Robin wondered if I was in a closet hiding because of my sadness over the fact that James Blunt's new album was not released in NA today. I was not in a closet and will survive until Nov 9th when BOTH James and Josh Groban's new albums come out and I will listen to them alone in Edmonton over my November long weekend (unless you want me to come down to Iowa and we can listen to them together over my long weekend? hahaha)

I'm done. I strapped on my HRM and realised my HR was 105 sitting there...yaaa...swam anyways...mild tachycardia...whatevs..

We did a lot of underwater kick tonight...20x25 underwater dolphin on front and back. At least my anaerobic capacity should be going up? We did an IM set and then did a 200IM fast...which I went 3:05 for...not impressed. Post marathon Melissa is not impressed...tachycardia...calf cramps...slowness...etc...

I know, I know...rest...I'm going to bed now? I hydrated after practice and I took my iron...should be good to go? Yes? Haha

See you all tomorrow.

ironannekidd - 2010-10-25 7:47 AM Mornin' Dee!

I have a question for you.

Do you know anything about the Whidbey, WA area?

It might be one of the places the Navy sends my BIL next.

Whidbey island? I have a rined who just moved away from there, I think.

PS: Disclaimer over my awesome summary--it probably isn't all that awesome. Haha. I will let someone else take summary honours from now on! I like to think I'm pretty funny though, even if I give a crappy summary.

I thought it was awesome. I wish I had seen it instead of reading through everything--then I could have chatted with you for a while.

I got my half mary training plan today. I had a guy from the local tri club write it for me. After Carlsbad, I'll be using a plan of his for the half iron I am planning on in July.

Oh, and the plan starts tomorrow. 3 miles. I realllly let myself loaf around too long. I hope this isn't too much shock for my body. He's got me working out 5 days a week. Looks like I won't be taking naps for a while, LOL.

I'm thinking you need more than one night's 8 hours of sleep. You sound overtrained to me. And not fully recovered from the marathon. Careful, between that and the stress of med school, you could really get into some nasty downward spirals.

hey Melindy--I have a medical question for you. What's the difference between AVNRT (AV node re-entrant tachycardia) and a-fib? I think the pathway for the tachyarrythmia is a little different, and the rhythm is more regular in avnrt than afib, but other than that, is the AVNRT dangerous? Does it have the same risk of blood clots that a-fib has? My visit with the cardiologist last month was pretty short, and he mentioned he thought I might have avnrt that degrades into a-fib rather than just straight a-fib, but that's about as detailed as the explanation got. Of course he couldn't say for sure which I have unless I come in while I'm out of rhythm...he offered to put me on a treadmill and inject me with epinephrine and other meds until I went out of rhythm...I said no thanks! The only reason to do that is if I was going to do an ablation procedure. I'm not up for that right now either. In another 20 years or so I might be singin' a different tune, but as of now, I'm good. Just need more info.

I have a follow up question to Amy's question.

I have SVT super ventricular tachycardia

What's the difference between that and the ones Amy asked about?
