Wesley12 - 2012-11-01 9:49 AM We're meeting up again at 8am on the boardwalk.

Are buoys up yet?  I want to get a loop in tomorrow.

the anchors stay in place year round. They've got little, tiny white bouys attached.  This morning you could see the line going out.  We found what we thought was the turn bouy about 700 yards out.  Personally I think there's one more, but we couldn't see it.  The bouy is about 1/2 as big as a person's head.

If it's calm you can probably find them.

Dinner Tonight:

If you want to eat with BT folks how about we find a place in the left wing of the hall.  (left if you're facing the stage).  Sort of far out so that folks who come for just the meeting can join us?  I'll wear my blue BT t-shirt like Sue was wearing for the swim this morning.

I had no idea there was a meeting.

Am I still allowed to race?

Nothing that you really needed to be there for.

Read your racer's guide (for the rules and stuff they covered).  use your head.  watch where you're going. watch for traffic, and other people.   hint for the day: be encouraging of other athletes, makes everyone's day better.

SN bags drop off is at Alvin's island - run on one side of the street, bike on the other.  be sure you put the right bag in the right box.

I think that about cover's it. oh, no drafting on the bike.

Wow that was a lot of people stuff in the boardwalk last night! One thing not addressed was when we are finishing the bike section and coming to the dismount line, can we leave the shoes attached to bike or do we have to unclip and take our shoes into t2?

I got a swim in this morning, I was expecting the water to be a little clearer, not that it matters. Friends that did this race last year said you could see fish and it was really clear.
Is it just cloudy from the recent weather? Or is this it's normal clarity, just curious.

DickDime and I rode 60 on the course this morning....30 out and back.  Going out was great, coming in the winds are forceful and in your face.  Not sure what the prediction is for tomorrow but remember to let the day come to you!  Excited to cheer you all on

Best advice you can give.  Don't fight it, just go with the flow.  If you have to slow for a while, do it, you'll make it up when you turn the corner.

Same with the swim.  If you get boxed out, slow for a second no need to fight your way through.  Save your energy.

Now if going for a podium, never mind

It was great meeting everyone this morning. Turned in all my gear, took a nap and had a great lunch. Time for a little more R&R, a little soaking in the hot tub and a goodnight's sleep.

Thank you all for the wonderful support and encouragement. May the wind be at your back and y'all have an injury free day.

Ken

^^ Like Ken said.

Have a great day and enjoy - especially if this is your first.  Take some time to look around, this is a pretty cool thing we're doing!
