Well, the kid's fall activities are winding down. Last day of fall soccer is today, as well as the last day of this round of swim lessons.

kinda sad, kinda glad.

New set of lessons starts in 2 weeks for one kid--the other one is ready for swim team, but I can't quite seem to get her interested in it.

The weather is ugly today--gray and overcast. Perfect for a witchy party, though. Not sure if I'll be fully costumed, but I'll try to remember to take pics to post for my fellow gouhlies

hey GHOULIES.

just got back from my group run.

first.  tri folk are just uber cool!

second.  The Spirit of Pittsburgh course is just uber cool too!

ran 9 miles.  this was the distance on my plan.  and i follow the plan

walked 3.7 BRISKLY and then JOGGED the final .4 back to finish the course.

question for you?

should i just log the 9 miles....or can i log 13.1 (we completed the entire 1/2 MARY course)

im pretty sure that ill be over by the end of the week anyways what w a 4 miler, a 3 miler w 8x100 yd striders and 1-2 miler, so its not a issue of needing the extra mileage....

THOUGH the extra mileage may help this week in the challenge results.

i just didnt know what 'counted' and what didnt??

im OK either way.

please advise.

Nice running!  Glad the tri club was cool.  And look at you scoping out the course ahead of time.  You are going to be prepared for next weekend!

Me, I'd just log the 9.  That was quite a long walk break.  But I could see logging it the other way too and wouldn't object

Good afternoon Ghoulies. I spent the day helping some Boy Scouts earn their weather merit badges, and then I snuck in 3.5 miles. Not too bad. Now to figure out dinner...

after i thought about it, NEAL, 9 seems the 'most' appropriate....

i suppose had i run/walk using planned intervals that would be different.

this way, i got the mileage in that i needed to get in to 'please' Mr. Higdon

and i got to scope out the entire course.

im all set for next SUNDAY.

yippyskippy!

Alright I am caught up and back from the Chiro - Here is the low down on the hoe down:

No hills on the bike because I like to ride Single Speed and that incorporates all the muscles and effects IT Band as well.  So if I ride I have to go flat and I have to climb up my home hill very easily in a very easy spin gear.

What do I think about Arizona.  There is some good climbing involved once I get out of Prescott and up towards the Canyon and I need to make sure my cycling endurance stays good so I am going to work hard on the flats for the next 2 weeks to see how it goes and see once I hit the hills if my leg gets bothered or not.

If not I will continue on to Arizona - if not - supplemental plan.

So no cross racing for sure - I was going to sneak some in but I need this to heal!

\shucks...was hoping for better news....but hey you still get to ride! high cadence can be a good thing...and something I need to do more of...I tend to mush up the hills and have realized that it is MUCH easier to drop down a few gears and just spin on up...

sorry about the news...will keep my fingers, toes, arms, legs and eyes crossed for you so that your trip to Arizona is not cancelled! Heal bill Heal Bill heal Bill!!!!

Quick evening walk by.  Got another Aqua Jogging session in so I will definitely make 100% by months end

Did some strength work and rode my bike on a flat run (but windy) while my son was warming up for his football game.

His team made the playoffs so we go another week of practice and first game is next Saturday at the local high school - the kids are psyched about this!

Have a great evening and chat with you tomorrow!

BILL.  youre an AQUAJOGGIN' fiend now!  woo!

and congrats to your son's team making the playoffs.

he's a winner, just like his dad.

woo!  woo!

which I might add is a very good thing! love all the company and sure makes time fly by! for a busy day!

GHOULIE QUESTION NUMBER TWO:

WHAT GHOULIE-RIFIC ACTIVITIES DO YOU HAVE PLANNED FOR THE WEEKEND?

Laundry and trying to convince a couple of short people to clean their rooms.

Yeah, that sounds like my weekend plans, except that one of the short people is taller than me and has to be bribed.

Luckily I'm 6'3" and 215, so it'll be a while before I'll need to bribe the kids. In the spirit of Halloween, I'd be willing to scare some obedience into your kids for ya!

The only thing that scares my teenage daughter is taking her cell phone away and turning off the internet at the same time.

well heck yeah that would TERRIFY me - and Im not a teen who has to be in constant touch with her BFF's 24/7! haha
