Started the day out with a 2160 yard swim.  The pool was set up the long way due to the synchronized swimming competition this weekend.  36 yard lanes- yea!!  It almost felt like an open swim.

Looking forward to a long run outside in the sunshine tomorrow.
Happy Friday.

Sorry I have been so absent. Had some bike issues this week that took alot of time and I had a busy work week.

Nice job on the swim Kelly!!! I would love to have a pool that long to swim in!The 25 yard chlorine box is getting old. One of my friends looked in my logs and last year we did an OWS on March 28th, the water temp was 41 F. We lasted about 8 minutes! Hope to repeat again this year

Much THANKS to Kevin for setting up and keeping logs for the challenge.

Tommorow I am going on a group ride run in Hopkinton ( start of the Boston Marathon) with a large group of BTers. Should be a lot of fun. Unfortunately I will have to quit at 1 pm as I have to go to work. Life gets in the way of training again!!! Hope you all enjoy your weekends!

Hi everyone!

I'm in Tucson, Arizona, nice and sunny but haven't made much of training time here yet. I've seen so many people cycling everywhere there are so many bike lanes.
We looked at homes yesterday with a real estate agent. Found one we really liked but it is way too early.

I rebuilt my bike and I am going for a nice bike ride this morning in the Sun.
Tomorrow is my first Tri of the season, weather report for Sunday looks bad, it's not supposed to rain in AZ!

Have a good weekend everyone.
Take care and heal up Bopper!

Bopper - 2010-03-05 8:39 PM

looks like my training plans for the evening are out.

I woke up this morning with a very stiff and sore back. Tried some light stretching... did nothing. Went to work and hoped that moving around would get the back loosened up... no such luck. Took some Advil around 2... and it's still sore. Sitting is ok... not great but not painful. Laying... ok on my back... on my side not great. Walking... OUCH. I was hoping to slog tonight, but that's not going to happen.

Tomorrow was to be a day at the Velodrome... but I may have to forego that.... depending on how I feel. I will probably still go and give it a try, but I probably won't be able to go as ride as long as I'd like. This getting old crap really pisses me off.

Oh no Kevin!!!!
Geez I hope its nothing.........
Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

I know it's not supposed to rain! I am sorry!!! It's rained the last 4 sundays so I have missed all of my long rides. Hopefully it will hold off until you are done racing!

Many of you have asked about zoey(dog). We brought her home thursday. She is in pretty bad shape and still not eating since Sunday and rarely drinking. So we are headed back to the vet today. It has been a hard week with trial, doing round the clock care for zoey, and having the rest of my family sick. Next week will be better!!!!

As for training this week, well I have preferred to get some much needed sleep. I am hoping to get my run in today and will be on the bike trainer tomorrow as it is supposed to rain all day!

Have a great weekend!

I have a funky thing going on with my foot.  I'm not sure if it's running related or a result of walking the Las Vegas strip last weekend in heeled boots.  (We started out just going to the strip for breakfast and decided to go sight-see.  Note to self - change your shoes next time.)

I have a sore muscle along the instep of my left foot.  This is not terribly painful - it's more like a really sore bruise.  There is no skin discoloration like a bruise - just the tenderness.  I can stand on tiptoes with no problem so I don't think it's tendonitis.  The funky part is that there seems to be a very small bump on the instep - almost like a tiny pebble under my skin.  This isn't something I can see - only feel it.

Has anyone heard of something like this before?

Thanks,

Lisa L

Ouch Lisa
Hope you had a good time in Vegas.

I have had problems with my feet after walking or standing alot it a higher heel.  Usually mine is on the outside and it has looked almost like an extra toe.  I had my chiropractor look at it and he adjusted my foot.  Hurt when he did it but felt fine after.  I haven't had this happen since I changed my orthotics in my shoes.
Good Luck

I was able to get in a brick this afternoon. Trianer inside and run outside.  Lake Michigan was picture perfect today.  No camera with me though.  Still had to watch out for some icy and snow patches.  I went in and out between the road and sidewalk.  Alot of sight seeing traffic today.  The legs were tight at first, but loosened up after the first mile.  Felt real strong at the end.

Good Luck at the tri tomorrw Lisa.
