15 min (or sooner) and the weekend starts!

Bah...I hate you too

We pull "nooners" on Fridays...

But it does make for early morning the rest of the week.

OK - embarassing question...  What IS sweet tea?  Something more than tea with some sugar?

If it's just regular tea with some sugar in it, what's the deal?  I like putting a packet of sugar or eqaul in my tea....  Is it THAT repulsive?

Tea with TONS of sugar.

Well, if it's like a slurry that your spoon will stick straight up in it, no thanks...  But just plain tea with nothing in it is not that great either.

BUT - the BEST drink?  Arnold Palmer, SSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOO good....  I'll refill the hell out of those....

Not exactly.

You can't make sweet tea cold. You have to add your sugar/simple syrup while it's still hot, or it won't all dissolve.

It's also a good deal sweeter than most non-Southerners are used to. Some places it will literally give you the shakes an hour or so later.

with true sweet tea you actually add the sugar in when the water is hot.. you also "steep" the tea bags for a longer time to get more flavor out of the tea... it is completely different from taking ice tea and adding sugar..

So COMPLETELY off on a tangent, but is everyone completely deaf, or can they not differentiate between 'Chrissy' and "Christy/Kristy/Christie, etc"??? I'm not stuttering or adding any letters when someone asks me my name, but EVERYONE gets it wrong. Them "Oh, Christy?" Me "No - that's not what I said". Arg. At restaurants, take-out, etc, it's ALWAYS some spelling of 'Christy".

And I HATE the name 'Christy'. But I don't like going by "Christine" either - sounds too formal. Rarrrghhh...

I know it's not THAT bad...   But, it does sound like it's too sweet still.  I used to love sugar as a kid, but now it's too much.  Lemonade is sometimes too sweet for me too, so that's why the Arnold Palmer is just perfect....

I think "Christy" with the "t" is more common than "Chrissy" without it.  That's why they tend to go that way if they don't hear well....  Just my guess.

When I say my full name over the phone, they always say "jimmy"?  I did NOT say Jimmy, I said Jim.  But adding that to my last name sound like "jimmy" for some reason.  I don't see it, bugs me.

If it was all old, hard-of-hearing folks, I'd understand. But it's people I meet face-to-face at church, work, etc. I just really hate the sound of "Christy" and I'm not so wild about "Chrissy" either, as I get older, but it's my name, it what people have always called me. And I was named after my aunt, who always went by Chrissy too.

Peace out and talk to you later (some sooner than others...)

I'm sure I'll be popping in here and there, but it gets a little slow over the weekends..

I visited a friend in New Hampshire recently and was craving some sweet tea, but realized that I was SOL, or at least I thought I was. Who would have thought that McDonald's serves sweet tea in NH? It wasn't as sweet as it usually is here in the south, but it was better than nothing.

Yup, they have it here at Mickey D's too - though you can get sweet tea here in certain places, due to the large population of Southerners who live in the DC area.

It is all part of their Southern program... First it was the chicken biscut for breakfast... now it is the sweet tea...
