Day 507, 8.2 easy paced miles. I signed up for my first 100 mile ultra today. The summer Beast Of Burden in Lockport, NY on the 17th of august. The same place I ran my 50 miler this January, I know the course.

Very exciting.  I'd like to run one in the next few years.  Next year I will probably look to do a 50k somewhere (I know only 1/3 of 100, but I am a fan of baby steps), my calandar is full for this year.  Good luck with the training.

Thanks and 50k is nothing to sneeze at. I did a trail 50k I was very unprepared for and it kicked my butt worse than the 50 miler did. I thought it is only 5 miler further than a marathon and got a big piece of humble pie that day. I finished in 5:15 but it hurt bad.

I did my first 50k last year in November, then the 60 miler this past January so you can do it. I am just trying to do all three, 50k, 50 miler and 100 miler while I am 50. Not sure why I decided to do it at that age it just worked out that way.

Day 508, 23.6 miles with a 2200 foot elevation gain and I managed to run it in an 8:47 pace. I ran 86.6 miles this week, it feels great to be back above 80 miles for the week.

#181- 12 miles

Ran past a nice hammer, after thinking about it, I should have picked it up.  Would have been the second "tool find" this year.  But it looked pretty heavy, and I had about 9 miles to go.  Also found a $5 bill earlier this week.  I'll be keeping my eyes peeled, seems like people are leaving stuff in the street lately.
