I'm just amazed at the number of people who think the US is a democracy and saying 'one person one vote'. If we were a democracy, the majority would ride rough shod over minorities. The founding fathers recognized this and put the electoral system in the constitution. The fact that Trump didn't win the popular is a teachable moment for people who think our government is a democracy. We are a constitutional republic. We choose representatives to represent everyone not the majority. I guess the best private school New York has to offer isn't doing much better. (from the 2012 election)

He told us four years ago the phony electoral college was rigged system and we need to revolt against it. But no one listened, so he went out and proved it. LOL |

We are going to implement extreme vetting. OK, then. We are going to deport 30 million illegal Mexicans! What? You can't do that. Are you crazy? OK, we will deport the 3 million one with criminal records. OK then. We are gonna build a 30 high wall along the entire Mexican border. What? You can't do that. Are you crazy? I'd be falling out of my chair if the Repubs tried pushing in some sweeping social legislation at this point. |

LOL Did you by chance watch the 60 minutes interview last night? He was asked about the electoral college statements in the past. I did have to give it to him though he stayed consistent and said he still doesn't like it, even though he won under it. |

He told us four years ago the phony electoral college was rigged system and we need to revolt against it. But no one listened, so he went out and proved it. LOL Whenever I see 'protests' I ask the basic questions: 1. What exactly are you protesting? 2. What specifically are your 'demands'? The Occupy protest could not even answer question 1. Everyone with a cause showed up yelled their hey-hey, ho-ho your mama has got to go. The Black Live Matter do a pretty good job of answering 1, but have no answers what they want to see done. Likewise, the election protestors have no realistic demands. They need to organize and protest specific policies and not just say Trump is a misogynist, racist, bigot. If they want to change the electoral system they are free to organized to try amend the US Constitution. And that just ain't gonna happen. |

Pro 9391 Omaha, NE | Subject: RE: Election 2016 I think I mentioned it previously, but the way you impact change in a representative democracy is you get people elected to office or run yourself. You can say all you want about the Tea Party, but they went out and have been getting people elected to offices at every level since they came to be. BLM, Occupy Wallstreet, etc. are still just protesting and whining. |

I agree with this: "Let me tell you something about Sarah Palin.....stupid people don't tend to attract contributors, managers, supporters, and electorates. If she'd exhibited stupidity on the Wasilla city council, they probably wouldn't have elected her mayor. If she'd exhibited stupidity as mayor, they probably wouldn't have elected her for a second term. Her appointment to the Oil and Gas Committee by the governor was probably not because she'd behaved stupidly. Finally, stupidity probably does not characterize most successful bids to run for governor of one of the United States.....If you call yourself a critical thinker, ad hominem attacks should not be the extent of your criticisms of those in whom you find fault. Show me one thing Sarah Palin has said or done that's "stupid", and I'll show you something that's perfectly rational for someone with her religious and political convictions. It may be that you simply disagree with her convictions, and you probably have very good reasons for doing so. But if that's the case, don't just say "Sarah Palin is stupid". That's kindergarten talk, and it makes you look bad, not her. Understand why she takes the position she does, then reveal the faults in that position." |

Pro 9391 Omaha, NE | Subject: RE: Election 2016 Sarah Palin is by no means dumb, but she was very under-informed when she was tapped to run as VP. I was a fan of hers, but her detractors did have a point that she wasn't qualified to be VP due to her lack of exposure, but there was never any rational truth to her not being qualified because she was "dumb". Don't forget the Progressives will always label a Republican candidate with whatever derogatory thing they can dig up. The pool they draw upon is Racist/Homophobic/sexist/dumb/xenophobe/womanizer/etc. It's Alinski tactics 101. |

I will plead ignorant when it comes to taxes. I do think reducing taxes on the rich stimulates the economy. We usually take about 3 vacations a year. If we paid less in taxes we might take 4 a years.....so that money would go back into the economy and create another 0.5 jobs at the Haunted Mansion at WDW. That 0.5 job would then spend money instead of living off the government. We are upper middle class....but take the really rich class....reduce their taxes and they can afford to open another Duncan Donuts franchise creating 2 dozen jobs. People laugh about 'trickle down' economics but it makes sense to me. A rising tide floats all boats. |
