Tri to get a good deal after the season is done. I will get a new bik for me the following year. The mention of the bike at the doctors made me think of this. Im trying to justify a new bike.. but the bike shop told me that for a 4 year old bike mines in great condition.. so they just made it harder... imagine - a shop not out to sell me a bike when I have a perfectly good one... that I didnt even buy there...
That's the sign of a good bik shop. Laura and I both have good bikes in really good condition as well, but the are beginner models and it is almost time for an upgrade. We would keep them as backups though. Thats my thing... Ive got a beginner bike I bought 4 years ago because the shop that I bought it from was the nicest to my friend and I when we were looking... The guy explained what we were looking at, the options etc so I got a Trek 1200 which is a fine average bike... but since then I now know about bikes and wish I had got something different... My biggest complaint is the running gear which just feels SO clunky and changing gears is just horrible... I suppose i could consider just upgrading the groupset on the bike for awhile as I have Shimano 105 on there but being a basic bike the levers etc are only Tiagra which I would NEVER recommend to anyone... I could go Ultegra for the whole lot but i think Id like to try Campy or even SRAM if I got a new bike... Oh yeah and if I get back into this crazy sport this season I will want TWO bikes... a good roadie and a TT bike...
