ilucy2 - 2009-10-05 4:16 AM Grummmble grummmble grummmmble.....it is morning woke up at 3 and could not sleep. Finally got up and showered, and headed to work. I have a planned run today, but I have a terrible earache. I figure it will feel better later.

geez...that suxxxx~ hope you get a good nites rest tonite and the ear feels better soon!!!

where do you work, Lucy?

Investigator for the State.

sounds impo tent! (sorry that is the way my husband always says important and he has evidently rubbed off on me!) what you investigating?

Could be impo tent...but the negativity and the visual of the sick things people do can drag on ya. My job is to investigate any crime that is a felony.

gotcha! Sorry....that is very important...and not to be joked about! there are some very sick and out of control people out there and glad that there are people like you that are putting them where they belong...behind bars or in a white suit with a padded cell!  I can not imagine some of the stories you must have or hear!!! thanks for doing what you do!

Hey team! I was able to get in a little over 5 ghoulish miles today. Now I'm HUNGRY for lunch. Not sure what they're serving here though... More to follow.

what?? dont know what thier serving...you get over there and find out! Im hungry!!!

Holy random-menu, batman. Meatballs in gravy over wild rice, salad, cottage cheese, and chili. Not too bad. My favorite days are the Fridays they do Mongolian Barbecue.

that is rather random...but I know what I got my eye on!!!! with a little corn bread and some cheese....just send me a bowl of chili will ya??? and a little salad would work, too! so what did you have??????

love the holy random menu comment....Im still giggling. are you a batman watcher??

or should I say were you a batman watcher??

I used to watch when I was younger. Now I watch some of the newer super-hero cartoons with the kids. As for what did I have - all of the above, thank you very much

I never really watched cartoons with my dd...but we watched Stephanie Street all the time! (yes, that is Sesame Street - but we renamed it after our daughter who knew every song that they sang!) we also let her watch nickelodeon some...but we really were against her sitting in front of the tube...instead we wanted her to read or go out and play....seemed it worked ok...to this day..she doesnt watch much tv at all..instead she reads! YAY us!

My 11 year old is a big reader too. The last test we got back says he reads at a college freshman level. The 7 year old hated reading up until this year, but is enjoying it now. She's definitely the more active of my two kids, but we make sure they both get plenty of play time as well. Now if I could just get them jobs....

mndymond - 2009-10-05 4:28 PM Also, I forgot to share my funny story of yesterday...

So I finished my part of the relay and my friend who did the first run took my bike and leaned it up against a pole so I could go and get my wet clothes off...I changed and when I came back to my bike (maybe 5min max later) and there were probably about 10 guys all standing around my bike just staring at it...haha

It kind of made my day---maybe I should name my bike "the man magnet"...lol...

so...you sharing what kind of bike...or you keeping that to yourself...so you can have all the fun!!! I WANT PICTURES OF THE BIKE WITH YOU ON IT!!!!!!

Its a 2006 Guru Trilite...its pretty badass...I know there are pictures of me on it somewhere...since there were 2 photographers out yesterday...but I don't know where they are yet Additionally, I have not figured out how to post pictures in forums...or in general on this site...????

Way to go Debbie!

Neal!  How'd ya do today?

Impatient for results TOPpage

Great!  Finished in 3:20:08 and set a 22 minute PR!  Was on pace for a BQ until about mile 17 or so when things sorta started going downhill.  Perhaps I'll figure out this pacing thing in another marathon or 2.....

Taking 22 minutes off is huge!  Congratulations!

yes indeed! so how many marathons have you run, Neal?

That was just marathon #2, hence the big PR.  This is actually only my second season of racing so I been setting some pretty decent PRs all summer long.

*PRing toppage*

wow...that says a lot about you and your determination! you go boy!!!! so tell me what you do for eating and drinking for a full marathon?

I went pretty minimalist on this one.  A gu every 4 miles starting at mile 5, washed down with water from the aid stations.  I did have some powerade from the aid stations in the later miles when I was cramping pretty bad.  It seemed to work well for me.

After the race I devoured everything in sight

Tomorrow I don't have class till 1pm, but a friend wants me to quiz her on econ stuff...I don't know anything about econ...ok maybe thats a lie...but still..haha

kimk - 2009-10-04 5:34 AM Hope all those racing right now are doing good!!! Remember to smile!

smiled, danced, smiled more, sang a few songs (sorry to those around me!), made 3 porta potty stops, only walking I did were thru a few of the water stations. My daughter and I finished together hand in hand...both with BIG smiles!

awesome job!!!

thanks Kim! I was soooooooo nervous!

I must have gone to the portapotty at least three times before the race....in a 15 min time span! thank goodness they had LOTS of them! along the run I had to stop three times...dang were there some long lines too! there was one guy who had his garage door opena nd was allowing runners to use the garage bathroom....what a nice guy!

there were people passing out doughnut holes, BACON???!!?? , cookies, mimosas, one home had a keg of beer....plus there were the homes that had the kids set up in the street curb with thier drum sets/keyboards and guitars playing music (not really but goin thru the motions)...there was one home that had a big screen (must have been at least a 72" cuz it was monster size...he had a camera at the finish line....was fun to see the people finishing...but of course we were just wanting to be next to them then~~~

there was one bummer situation...a young girl (20's) on the side of the road...she was less then a mile from the finish...and they were doing cpr on her! 6 medics working frantically on her!!! very sad to think of the family waiting on her....and not having any idea that she was in such grave danger!!!!

oh there was also a house blasting the music from Rockie....when he climbs all those stairs....definitely got a rise from the runners as they passed the house~!

Something about that music you can't help but get pumped up.  Someone was blasting that during the mary too yesterday and I couldn't help but speed up a little bit as I passed

haha...amazing what music and or a cute butt in front of you will do to make you run faster to keep up! nothing better then a cute pace booty!

Pace booty is a wonderful thing.  It got me through miles 19-20 yesterday

So the question Du Jour (like that french huh? ) is do I go back and read 9 pages I missed or just pretend I read them all and don't worry about post count padding

what about all the schmack talking we did about you!!! dont you want to read that!????

Nah - you can give me a quick briefing of it all if you want   I think I have read it all anyways.  I scanned some and they looked familiar.

I can see 3 or 4 new threads for us by the time we are done.  We are a chatty team!  And just think Neal is recovering from an awesome mary or we would be even further along!

That's no excuse for me.  I think my fingers may be the only part of my body that isn't sore today.  I should be typing up a storm

thought you would enjoy this that got sent to me! tooooooo funny! and I can relate a little...although I did not do a full like you did!! hope you are getting your socks on by yourself! haha

I JUST LOVE THE PICTURE OF THE GUY IN THE SHIRT! - I had never seen this before I worked the finish line at a marathon...there were all kinds of guys mainly who came up with bloody nipples! I was freaking out....and was assured this is normal for many rookie runners...they do not grease thier nipples or add bandaids..and the shirt will keep rubbing and rubbing til ....well you see!

Too funny   I broke out the flip-flops today.  Socks were too much work

And thankfully I figured out the band-aid/lube thing before I ever got to the stage of bloody nipples.  Ow! Ow! Ow!

ilucy2 - 2009-10-05 6:42 PM Well I got my lil run in this afternoon. We bug bombed the house friday before we left town, I am thinking my gym did not get aired out very well. I am wondering if it is time to find my asthma inhalers or if I inhaled a butt load of bug bomb. It felt like I was trying to breath through mud. Really gasping for air, I am thinking my DD could hear me in the living room, she kept trying to ask me what was wrong.

Yikes!  Nice job on the run.  Hope you get the breathing thing sorted out soon!

Good morning!  It let the dogs out this morning and it wasn't raining! Cool

Lots to get done this morning, but I've got it all planned out to get my run in while the laundry is drying.  For my warm-up I'll be pushing the vacuum around.  Teaching yoga this afternoon and evening, with a trip to the doctor with my daughter in between because she's got an earache that won't go away.

I guess I'd better get moving!  (In case I don't get back to the computer until late, I'm making chickpea curry in the crockpot for dinner.)

I guess I'd better get moving!  (In case I don't get back to the computer until late, I'm making chickpea curry in the crockpot for dinner.)

Sounds like quite the busy day.  Good luck!

And I'm really glad to hear its dry for a change!

For the record, stairs are a vile, evil creation.

I finished up the race report last night.  It's here if anyone is interested.
