I was able to get in a little over 5 ghoulish miles today. Now I'm HUNGRY for lunch. Not sure what they're serving here though... More to follow. what?? dont know what thier serving...you get over there and find out! Im hungry!!! Holy random-menu, batman. Meatballs in gravy over wild rice, salad, cottage cheese, and chili. Not too bad. My favorite days are the Fridays they do Mongolian Barbecue. that is rather random...but I know what I got my eye on!!!! with a little corn bread and some cheese....just send me a bowl of chili will ya??? and a little salad would work, too! so what did you have?????? I used to watch when I was younger. Now I watch some of the newer super-hero cartoons with the kids. As for what did I have - all of the above, thank you very much I never really watched cartoons with my dd...but we watched Stephanie Street all the time! (yes, that is Sesame Street - but we renamed it after our daughter who knew every song that they sang!) we also let her watch nickelodeon some...but we really were against her sitting in front of the tube...instead we wanted her to read or go out and play....seemed it worked ok...to this day..she doesnt watch much tv at all..instead she reads! YAY us! |

Elite 3144 | Subject: RE: Show us your Ghoulies - Halloween Run Challenge My 11 year old is a big reader too. The last test we got back says he reads at a college freshman level. The 7 year old hated reading up until this year, but is enjoying it now. She's definitely the more active of my two kids, but we make sure they both get plenty of play time as well. Now if I could just get them jobs.... |

Just 2 miles, and slow, but it's done! Way to go Debbie! Neal! How'd ya do today? Impatient for results TOPpage Great! Finished in 3:20:08 and set a 22 minute PR! Was on pace for a BQ until about mile 17 or so when things sorta started going downhill. Perhaps I'll figure out this pacing thing in another marathon or 2..... Taking 22 minutes off is huge! Congratulations! yes indeed! so how many marathons have you run, Neal? That was just marathon #2, hence the big PR. This is actually only my second season of racing so I been setting some pretty decent PRs all summer long. *PRing toppage* wow...that says a lot about you and your determination! you go boy!!!! so tell me what you do for eating and drinking for a full marathon? I went pretty minimalist on this one. A gu every 4 miles starting at mile 5, washed down with water from the aid stations. I did have some powerade from the aid stations in the later miles when I was cramping pretty bad. It seemed to work well for me. After the race I devoured everything in sight |

Remember to smile! smiled, danced, smiled more, sang a few songs (sorry to those around me!), made 3 porta potty stops, only walking I did were thru a few of the water stations. My daughter and I finished together hand in hand...both with BIG smiles! awesome job!!! thanks Kim! I was soooooooo nervous! I must have gone to the portapotty at least three times before the race....in a 15 min time span! thank goodness they had LOTS of them! along the run I had to stop three times...dang were there some long lines too! there was one guy who had his garage door opena nd was allowing runners to use the garage bathroom....what a nice guy! there were people passing out doughnut holes, BACON???!!?? , cookies, mimosas, one home had a keg of beer....plus there were the homes that had the kids set up in the street curb with thier drum sets/keyboards and guitars playing music (not really but goin thru the motions)...there was one home that had a big screen (must have been at least a 72" cuz it was monster size...he had a camera at the finish line....was fun to see the people finishing...but of course we were just wanting to be next to them then~~~ there was one bummer situation...a young girl (20's) on the side of the road...she was less then a mile from the finish...and they were doing cpr on her! 6 medics working frantically on her!!! very sad to think of the family waiting on her....and not having any idea that she was in such grave danger!!!! oh there was also a house blasting the music from Rockie....when he climbs all those stairs....definitely got a rise from the runners as they passed the house~! Something about that music you can't help but get pumped up. Someone was blasting that during the mary too yesterday and I couldn't help but speed up a little bit as I passed haha...amazing what music and or a cute butt in front of you will do to make you run faster to keep up! nothing better then a cute pace booty! Pace booty is a wonderful thing. It got me through miles 19-20 yesterday |

We bug bombed the house friday before we left town, I am thinking my gym did not get aired out very well. I am wondering if it is time to find my asthma inhalers or if I inhaled a butt load of bug bomb. It felt like I was trying to breath through mud. Really gasping for air, I am thinking my DD could hear me in the living room, she kept trying to ask me what was wrong. Yikes! Nice job on the run. Hope you get the breathing thing sorted out soon! |
