Hey thanks for all the great PMs; so far I have 13 in all. So many stories of how they were brought into the world of triathlons; rehab, cancer awareness, weight loss; or others having a tight budget for a very expensive sport.  I wish you all the best of luck in your future challenges.

One of the PMs struck a cord when the poster hoped I would consider them a "worthy" recipient.  I'm not sure I wanted to measure someone's worth compared to anyone else's, so not my intention.

Before I posted I was unsure how to make it a little more fair to those who may not have been browsing the site at whatever hour I posted.  I'm going to leave it to chance and put everyone's name into a hat.  I will have my six year old pick a name.  He's asleep, thankfully, so this will happen tomorrow.  I wish you all luck and will let you know.

After reading everyone's messages I wish I had more to give away.  Cheers

Hi everyone, I have a couple of items that I was considering selling, but it's the holiday season, so I think I'd be a lot happier just finding a great home for them! Specifically, I have the following up for grabs:

- Garmin Forerunner 110: This is the women's model, which is grey/pink. I just bought it this summer and used it for a few runs. Not only am I planning on getting a 910xt, but I also wasn't a fan of this model regardless. It got a lot of great reviews though, so I seem to be in the minority on this. I mainly had issues with the HR strap (I think it was too big for me) and the fact that it doesn't have an auto pause function. This will include the watch, charger and HR strap. I think I got rid of the manual, but I'm sure it's available online for reference.

- Pearl Izumi Tri Fly III women's triathlon shoes: These are size 39s that I used for one very painful 70M ride, as they did not have my usual size 40s, and I bought them because I had forgotten my shoes and convinced myself that the 39s would be fine without socks. For reference, I wear a women's size 8 in regular shoes, so these are probably best for a size 7 or so. They have a small smudge of grease on them from dropping my chain, but otherwise are practically brand new! This will just be the shoes alone, so you'll have to look into getting your own pedals/cleats.

I may come up with other items later, but these are the major ones I know I'd like to pass on. Let me know if you have any questions!

Wow, I suppose not surprisingly, I've already gotten several PMs regarding the Garmin. As was the case with gobey007 and his wetsuit above, I think I may have to draw a name out of a hat tomorrow morning to determine where it will end up. Not necessarily the best method, but probably the most impartial.

The shoes have been spoken for at this point, so they're gone.

I'll update the who the "winner" is tomorrow. Thanks for all of the interest!

Kiter:  just wanna say that we appreciate your commitment to the BT community.  You've only been a registered member for 3 months and are already putting your commitment on the line with these offers.

Others, take notice!  This is what this type of website is for.  THANK YOU!!!  I do hope that they end up in the hands of someone who will be most appreciative, and even have their own chance to pay it back in the future

I did the drawing for the Garmin this morning, and it will be going to hoffsquared. Coincidentally, she had been the first person to PM me regarding it as well. Sorry to those of you who had also expressed interest. I wish I had one for all of you!

I have an Ironman Stealth Full Women's Wetsuit size WMS (med-sm) 5'0"-5'5" 117-132lbs. Used once. Excellent condition. Mesh Bag included. I have had it posted in BT's general classifieds and tis the season to just let it go to someone who could really use it and optimize their triathlon experience. Send me a personal message and wishing all well Smile

Hi guys,

I'm new to this and planning on having my first race sometime in May or June and I'm not even sure I would like it? I have a broken wheel on my "hand my down Tri bike" that uses 650c wheel size. any one has an extra pair of wheels out there that are no longer needed ?

thanks

Happy holidays.

FoggyGoggles - 2012-01-02 4:27 PM

Just a quick "heads up..." We aren't supposed to ask for items in need. Members who have something to give away will proactively post them here and it's a mad dash to be the first claimant.

No worries and good luck!

FoggyGoggles  is absolutely right, and on my side, I also say No Worries.

As an alternative, you can start a new thread with a WTB in front (Want To Buy), there you can negotiate with any sellers offering, perhaps reaching that free price.

I would add that 650 wheels are hard to come by these days but not impossible.  You may want to talk to someone selling a very small frame bike, like a 46 or a kids' road bike...but make sure it rolls on 650s not 24s.

G'Luck!
