HA! I totally have you beat! NINETEEN posts in a row! And not a one of them with one ounce of worthwhile reading! CAT! For next month's challenge, Slugger needs to go on "Team Post Padding." NOOOOO!!!!!! Then I will spend time post padding, not training...which is totally different than now! Then again, most of this team probably belongs there, too........... Well, as long as there are whips, tasers, and cattle prods in with the post padding, I'll be happy! |

Is is hot anywhere else??? Where is fall?????? It's Connecticut for pete's sake. It's supposed to be chilly in Sept right??? Yay for the run! It has been gloriously fall here - it smells and feels like fall in the mountains, with the chill just like it should. I have a perma-grin plastered across my face. Of course, remembering how to run in 40 degrees is taking some adjustment. But then, it started at 70 this morning! The colors are turning, too. I love fall! |

There was a number 6!!!! Now Mila won't move in with me and I will have no one to share my vodka-flavored whoopie pies with!!!! Now I am going to sit in the corner and pout and cry and drink very lonely vodka. Vodka-flavored whoopie pies? Just go with it for now. She was having a moment. It's all good. I'm still going to move in with her but I'm playing hard to get for awhile until we can come up with a plan for identifying her random garden peppers and we can make sure the cats and dogs will all get along. My cat is vicious. I have some concerns. Maybe we'll feed him vodka flavored whoopie pies and he'll mellow out.
Hey, they aren't MY garden peppers! I stole them from my friend's mom! She's the one with no clue how to label. Vicious cat? My cat weighs over 14 pounds and isn't overweight. But he's a cuddle-bum of the best sort. Wait - your cat pukes in the morning. The cat will have to stay with the Exhibits. Perhaps we ill feed all of them vodka flavored whoopie pies? |

Master 2665 The Whites, New Hampshire | Subject: RE: Whips, Cattle Prods & Tiaras (Four-Is-More Challenge) Uh-oh, I think this post might have substance. You can ignore it if you are allergic to such things. Went for a run today. 4.3ish miles, longer than I've done since starting this rebuild thing. It is nice to be solidly up above 5K again. I think I'm ready to try finishing the 4.25 mi loop (it has a wicked, wicked hill at the end, so is substantially more effort than the 4.3 I did today). Maybe on Friday before I go camping with the best friend and her kidlets. Anywho, the run started out totally sucky. It was like I was bricking, only there was no bike ride. I felt sluggish, dragging, like I couldn't get moving. It finally went away when I turned around for home. I took almost two minutes off my return time - crazy! I'm wondering if I should just HTFU and run faster. I've gotten into a funk before where I'm running so slowly that it feels like I can't run at all, and just speeding up gave me a boost of energy and I felt way better. Maybe it'll work again. I just super duper hope it isn't something else going on. At least the weight is finally coming off again, but I want to stop feeling so sluggish!! |

That is because you live in New Hampshire. I *heart* New Hampshire. It's been too long since I have been up (like 8 years). I need to plan a trip up soon, before the snow hits!!!! |

As far as the HTFU goes, I wouldn't push it too much since your tendons have been on the mend. You don't want any setbacks. Of course if your feet are fine then by all means, HTFU and get moving!!!!! |

I just super duper hope it isn't something else going on. At least the weight is finally coming off again, but I want to stop feeling so sluggish!! Hmmm... I'd say in terms of recovering from injury you need to be careful with how hard you're pushing. If you can run faster without pain AND without going anaerobic and it gives you that boost, then by all means, try it out. However, if HTFU means you'll be running at a pace that makes you kinda breathless, I'd say no for two reasons. First, as you're coming off of an injury you need to rebuild your aerobic base. You will get faster, literally, by going slow because you're base building. Ultimately once the base is there, you'll have a better capacity to handle more work (go faster) with less effort. Second, you mention weight loss here and running at a pace that keeps you out of breath won't help you reach any kind of body comp change. Now usually someone has to pay me a lot of money to do a three hour workshop on that stuff, but for you and your vanilla vodka, it's free . |

None of my crew bought it but they still went on and on... Too funny. Took the mountain bike out for a spin today. It was fun. But, I was a boob and forgot to bring water so I had to cut the run short. Stoopid me. |

That sucks hard! I hope you heal up soon. Maybe (don't tell Dee) take time off of swimming? I can't imagine the chlorine is good for it? Hmm, I don't think this is a good case for tasering. Does that make me a bad team member?Had to make an emergency trip to the eye doc today. Turns out I have an ulcer on my eye. Which explains why it hurts. A lot. Now I'm stuck wearing my glasses for at least a week. I do not have any "sport" glasses so running and biking should be interesting. The ole rimless specs aren't exactly rugged and tight fitting. And swimming - swimming could be interesting. I'm blind as a bat with out the coke-bottle lenses. Might have to spring for the optix goggles. On the plus side, the glasses cover up the racoon eyes tan line. I've got a swim workout scheduled for wednesday. I guess I'll find out then. The good news is, I think I'm healing up. It no longer hurts to have a left eye. Seriously, on Saturday I could have sworn that someone had jammed a cattle prod in my eye and left it there. It took lots of ibuprofen and a few vodka tonics to make me feel even close to human. I hope your eye is feeling better. Did they put that fluoro green stuff in your eye? |
