Wonder what that third wish is.... I've seen that quite a few times already. I'm pretty certain the third wish was NOT about Moyes moving from Everton to MU. |

Where? In Barcelona? I was just there in March. That place is awesome. And if Messi plays you will be able to say you have seen the best player on the planet. |

Champion 15211 Southern Chicago Suburbs, IL | Subject: RE: Any REAL football fans here? So the season is over. Well, it is for everyone but the MLS. Fergie out. Moyes in. Rooney wants out. Spurs just miss out on CL. Arsenal got lucky. Mancini goes bye bye even though they finish second. 'Pool..... well...... that is more than I care to bite off right now. Cardiff up! And then there is Europe. Messi hurt to finish the year. I think the pace finally caught up to him. Barca was still unreal this year. Absolutely unreal. And Messi and friends are coming to Chicago to play this summer. Still considering purchasing tickets. So many things happened this year. What will you remember, from this season... minus the Suarez chomp? |

Expert 1207 Parker, Co | Subject: RE: Any REAL football fans here? aha - took me a while to find out how to reply - not a fan of the new site so may be a more infrequent peruser of it You have to laugh at Stoke - cut your nose off to spite your face - fire Pulis and potentially hire Hughes.....that is hilarious Hopefully Saturdays final is a great one to shut up the EPL pundits about the Bundesliga being a two horse race like La Liga - i actually think they are on to something - less money to watch the games - season tickets are the price of single game tickets for some EPL teams for instance - grooming young players to play a stronger and more technical game and sold out stadiums with atmosphere - sounds like a winner to me |

Champion 15211 Southern Chicago Suburbs, IL | Subject: RE: Any REAL football fans here? What a lovely last few games for the US. Things really are starting to shape up for Klinsey. Sure, the Belgium match was a disaster. But the definitely made up for it against Germany's B+ squad. And then Jamaica. They shouldn't have let in that late goal but they did not let it get to them and came back. To me, though, that match was the weakest, even if you count Belgium. They did not dominate, but Jamaica is quite good. And then last night. A few breakdowns in the back line once or twice but going forward looked so much better. Jozy scored his 3rd goal in 3 games. I really hope he is starting to find his international form. And I honestly though Panama would be better. Now we really need to pour it on against Honduras. If we can get all 9 points out of these 3 games that will make our lives MUCH better. Thoughts? |

Expert 1207 Parker, Co | Subject: RE: Any REAL football fans here? Germany B+ ? More like the B- or C team, add in the gifted goal which was farcical and I think it was an ok performance Jamaica was awful - zero continuity, very little possession and frankly they were fortunate to win it. Panama - a different story - Cameron in the middle and the German Johnson on the left were fantastic - it allowed Bradley to drive through the middle which always causes a defense issues. Altidore has some confidence back and looked good also - which leads me to Dempsey. Frankly I think he is average at best, even below it most of the time he plays on the national stage. To me, he plays as if he is too good to be out there and does not show the100% commitment of a Captain. Bradley should be captain. A smaller pacey forward to compliment Altidore would be a good experiment - just not sure who is in the squad to fit that role. Mexico are in a ,malaise - they need a spark and it may come when the fire their manager - lots of talent but no cohesion. |

Champion 15211 Southern Chicago Suburbs, IL | Subject: RE: Any REAL football fans here? It wasn't pretty last night but we got another 3. That is 9 out of 3 games. We are now sitting in the drivers seat for the rest of the hex. Klinnsey's plan is continuing to take shape and I think he is right about it taking generations before we are truly competitive at the next level. But we are looking better. It is no longer just about being fit and just outmuscling the other team. So it truly looks like we will make it to Brazil next year. And we won't know till next year but I am now wondering how we will do. Out of the first round should be a given, I hope. But maybe not much further. |

Expert 1207 Parker, Co | Subject: RE: Any REAL football fans here? I like Cameron in midfield with Bradley - surprisingly creative for a big center half...he has made a huge difference when he play there. Still dont like Dempsey so much - but that may be my bias.....need a complimentary forward with more pace to help Altidore. He will get more attention in the WC and there needs to be a plan B... As for out of the group - depends who the draw is - could be a group of death with second placed teams from South America and Europe etc..plus a good African team....at that point it would be unlikely! |

I like Cameron too. Don't quite understand your bias against Dempsey. To me, I see a fire in him that is different than the other players. He leads in a more quiet angry way. I don't have a problem with that. I like him and what he brings to the team. I will say I'm glad to see Jozy finally living up to expectations. I just hope he continues. I do agree we need someone up there that compliments them. I agree. It all depends on the draw. Could be a cake walk or it could be a nasty group of death. And frankly, I can't wait. |

Expert 1207 Parker, Co | Subject: RE: Any REAL football fans here? I guess in regards to Dempsey- I am more of a fan of a demonstrative and vocal captain - lead by example - never a fan of the quiet angry captain, I dont see that as inspiring the team dynamics we see in football. Plus i just dont see the hussle or quality others do - he should have scored once if not twice yesterday....and in previous games....seems to not rise above.... |

Agreed he should have scored yesterday but he also had more shots on goals than the others. I would say the ones that he shot at goal were good saves by the GK. Also, the one chip to him by Bradley was over his head. He puts himself in position to score more than anyone else had in quite a while. Now that JA has been scoring, I'm hoping it will start to open up going forward and make it easier for others to score now that they have both of them to worry about. Just a difference of opinion. Not that either of us is right or wrong. |

Champion 15211 Southern Chicago Suburbs, IL | Subject: RE: Any REAL football fans here? Interesting Confederations Cup final yesterday. Brazil ran over Spain. They out hustled, out muscled and just plain out wanted it more. They dominated in just about every capacity. And once David Luiz made that goal line clearance and Neymar put it in the roof of the goal just a scant 4 minutes later, that just took all the wind out of Spain. At that point I knew they were toast.

Expert 1207 Parker, Co | Subject: RE: Any REAL football fans here? Arbeloa was awful, Ramos and Pique were appalling too - Spains weakness is at the back - add to that the midfield looked fatigued and exposed the weaker back line then the result was a forgone conclusion - Brazil played with unusual passion, something they had not shown for well over a year...they still rode their luck at times but were in the end worthy winners - should we draw any conclusions from this? Yes - Italy is on its way back! |

Yes - Italy is on its way back! Yeah. The entire back line was absolutely horrible. But Arbeloa was particularly bad. Italy does look like it is on its way back. And the US starts its Gold Cup tourny tomorrow. But with the squad picked for it I really don't see us winning it. I could be surprised but I HIGHLY doubt it. On another note, trades have been happening. Any rumors that have you guys going, HUH?

Champion 15211 Southern Chicago Suburbs, IL | Subject: RE: Any REAL football fans here? TRANSFER TALK! Jozy has signed at Sunderland. Back in the PL. Let's see if his run of form holds true. Tottenham has said Dempsey is available for transfer. Would probably do him well to leave as he really doesn't fit into AVB's system. Everton? Hard to say now that Moyes is gone. Somewhere else in the top 10? Not Liverpool (as much as my wife would want him there). Speaking of 'Pool, they turned down 30Million for Suarez from Arsenal. Orginally stating they would take nothing less than 50. That number is now down to 40. I'm hoping he is gone. Real Madrid looks like they REALLY want Bale. Will Rooney go to Chelsea? Especially now that he is injured? Only time will tell. Neymar at Barca. Is that the pill to cure their ills? Tevez finally away from ManCity. But Juventas? Really? Aren't they still getting into trouble in Italy? So far it has been an interesting Transfer window and we aren't even 1/2 way through. |

As you know I am not the biggest Dempsey fan but I think he would be better at the second tier of the EPL - maybe a Swansea where the style of play is the emphasis... Did you see the breakdown of the Nemar deal? 56M....17 to Barca 2M to some agent and the rest to Nemar and his father!!!! some 35M euros.....crazy stuff... The rooney stuff is interesting - not sure if he will leave or if its all bluster....his relationship with Moyes is the key...has it been mended? |

Sounds like a bit of controversy at the end with Klinsy getting booted and a lot of no calls on fouls on the US. Saw the one that ultimately got Klinsy tossed but not the others. Anyone else see the match? |

Elite 3091 Spokane, WA | Subject: RE: Any REAL football fans here? Any thoughts on the Dempsey trade to Seattle? As a Sounders fan I'm stoked, but not sure if it was the right move for him. The money must be right, but to leave the EPL at the prime of his career, I don't know. Kasey Keller even said publicly that he wasn't sure. |
