tlnewman30 - 2008-10-06 11:17 PM So I signed up for a 5k called Sceam Scram.  It's 5 days after the Marathon.  Looks like it should be a blast.

They do a halloween run in Indianapolis called "Run Like Hell".  It's a costume contest more than a 5k.

Last year's costume contest winners - Lunch Ladies.  They did the whole 5K with a table full of real food.  They stopped to feed folks every once in awhile.

ROFLMAO!!  Did these guys win, too?  Very funny!

This might be the funniest thing I have ever seen!

have you ever seen a gorilla on a bike?

have you ever seen a gorilla on a bike?

Are you just going to leave us hanging like that?  Or are you going to show us a gorilla on a bike?

Just got done sweating away on the trainer (which has nothing to do with this challenge but it makes my graphs look a lot prettier).  Time to go get cleaned up and head to work.

Family commitments.  Ya miss me?  Hey, I gots to have a family life, too, ya know?  When I walk in the door I don't want my kids to point and scream and yell out "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!  MOMMY, THERE'S A FREAKISHLY TALL DUDE WALKING IN THE HOUSE!!  WHO IS HE??!!!!".

so, how tall are you?

ok, so about the gorrilla on the bike

(for those of you that heard me talk about the taco ride last year, feel free to fast forward to the next post )

sooooo, there's this weekly ride called the taco ride that takes place in Iowa every Thursday.

It's about as far from a training ride as you could imagine - it's really about the fermented beverages and tacos

we meet on the road and have a beer, then ride 6 miles or so to 'margaritaville' (a clearing beside the trail that has a few picnic tables and a ton of bike racks) - and have another beer

then we ride another 3 miles or so into town and have tacos at the steakhouse -

after we are full (and for us before the karoke gets really bad) we ride back down the trail

it's a good time (I've even seen first hand what riding 'naked' really looks like and it has nothing to do with not wearing an ipod or HRM - LOL!)

anyhoo, what does this have to do withe gorilla you are asking

last year for Halloween, two of the guys dressed up as gorrillas and I wore a blonde wig like Fay Raye

They actually did the whole ride in costume, it was hysterical!

Dark Arts notes – Volume 4

Monday got off to a slow start, seems everyone actually had to work yesterday!  The nerve of our employers!

There are some great pics from a 5K in Indianapolis (thanks Emily!) and from some gorillas on bikes – be sure to check them out (pages 63 and 64 ish)

Phil (1stTimeTri)-  Phil was a little lax on the posting over the weekend – apparently he’s trying to avoid becoming known as the ‘freaklishly tall dude’ .  He has shown us a new talent of his – he can create a picture with letters – quite clever actually!

Steve (AccidentalChef)-  has a brand new bike – it’s pretty hot, check it out in his blog (I may have to go back a few days or use my imagination, but I will find something to post hehe)

Melissa (BunnyB) – had a long day at work on Monday – but did get out for a walk – WTG!

Emily (esc) –  Too bad Dee wasn’t around when Emily described how she likes to be entertained on vacation,

I’d be happy to wander the streets and stop at a restaurant every once in a while. I’m pretty easy
Methinks Dee may have had some fun with the ‘”I’m easy” comment – LOL!

Cat (kaqphin)- has set a goal to reach 15K, let’s help her do it this month!  Of course she may get there more quickly with the help of the ‘dang quote thingy’

Kendra (kns57)- must be working – or maybe she moved her office outside after all

Beth (lastcall2003)- posted a yummy low fat alfredo sauce recipe!

Matt (mdb) – Matt, come out and play –pretty please, with sugar on top?

Judi (QueenZipp) – I peeked in Judi’s blog, and it sounds like the ankle is slightly better today – she is taking good care of it, lot’s of R.I.C.E.

Kathrin (ratkat) – Kathrin got some nice TOPPAGE!  She also made us a new table with a link to the spreadsheet, thanks Kathrin!

Travis (tlnewman)- has apparently volunteered to run next month’s challenge (at least in the world according to Cat )  He also has a few races lined up for next year, but is concerned that it will adversely affect his posting on BT – where are your priorities man?  I mean, if Kristin can post from the elliptical, surely you can find a way………….

Sharon (zeefraugtries) – does a pretty convincing Elvis impression – Thank you, thank you very much………………

Kristin (LazyMarathoner) – gave her legs a rest and created a team spreadsheet for us, thanks Kristin! – she also learned how to use the little clicky button thingy.  Unfortunately Tuesday is a day full of meetings, so we won’t hear much from her, unless she can sneak in a few posts on her crackberry
