Basically, I'm all goofed up on the left side - both sides, actually - because of years of neglect regarding stretching and strengthening. I've got four pages of exercises to do 3x a day, he would prefer that I not ride to work for a while, I can still upper body strength train, I've got a foam roller, a set of ankle weights and a stability ball. He sunk his fingers into my left quad and loosened it up but it HURT like a mother you know what. I screamed. I really did. But I didn't tell him to stop, either, because I want to get well. Basically, it was a "if you ever want to run/ride again, you must do this" come to Jesus kind of talk. My next appt. is Friday. Sounds like a good PT - and you have the rules and guidelines so now all you have to do is follow...glad you have a plan! |

I'll be dog/housesitting the weekend before, but not sure what I'll be doing Christmas proper. No need to feel sorry for myself, though ... someone always invites me, or I will invite myself to a shelter or center and hand out food! I've generally been too poor to give out Christmas gifts, and to so many wonderful friends, so what I do is make unbelievably scrumptious yet low-fat/Splenda-subbed banana bread, tie it in red cellophane with a bow--every year everyone still asks if there will be nana bread. You are always welcome to come up for a holiday visit in Seattle. Yee-hah! Thanks for the offer and invite. Must seriously consider. Yes, do. |
