Won't go into much detail but TransIowa is off - you can read above for the whole story!

Have a great day everyone.  See you tomorrow!

Bill, am surprised but won't say I'm sorry since you seem to be so at peace with this.  A big Ghoulie hug sent out anyway.

Hey Queen!  Sounds like you needed a hug or two this weekend as well.  One big one heading to PGH as we speak.

Oh, and body pump is the latest rage out our Y as well.  I struggle to get my s/b/r training done but need to check this one out.

skrtrnr - 2010-04-12 6:52 AM MORNING ANN.  NEAL.

im here....for a little while at least.

trying to pound out my new schedule.  the next registration cycle at the Y is coming up soon, and im shifting my focus over the summer months from tri training to a more strength training focus.

im gonna get uber BUFF in June, July and August!  woo!

they are offerring a new class - BODY PUMP - that ive heard great things about - coreographed lifting.  hmmmmmm.  but from what i understand it is a great total body workout.  and im looking forward to the change up.

then i got a 'hankering' for SPIN BOOT CAMP - so im gonna be taking that every Wednesday night.

and then i'll do 'regular' ST (free weights and weight machines) on Friday.

then of course in between i'll still be SWIBIRU, working around my kids schedule.  im super duper fortunate.  they have a Summer Rec Program at a local church they LOVE to go to, M-R, 8:15-12:30.

get this??? its FREE.  AND they bus the kids back and forth.

 i know.  shut up!

they LOVE IT and i LOVE that they LOVE it.

and then theyre home that we STILL get to go to the POOL on the days when its nice, and i can get in a good 1-1.5 hrs of working out, working at the Y, or any other running around i need to do.

its a WIN WIN WIN for all of us!

stacieb

Stacie, I love body pump! I take it 2x week when I can although this summer I will have to give up my Wednesday because  I will be teaching a beginner fitness during that time. Cool about the kids summer program. Sounds like you have a great handle on this summer!

i have a really have to force myself to do ST week to week.  i figured out its because its a) so 'static' compared to the rest of what i do and b) its so routine that it gets mundane ie BOOOORING AS HELL.

im thinking in a group setting w the workout set to music w a change up to the routine week to week, i'll enjoy it MUCH better.

theres an instructor that i would LOVE to take the class from on Monday Eves.  she teaches our Zumba classes SUCH a firecracker, but i cant swing two evenings out.....

what do you love about BP KIM?

as for the summer schedule, it always helps me to be forward thinking about stuff. having a plan just i dunno makes me feel 'better' overall.

i really dig how it feels when life falls into place...not that it always does....but when it does....it dig it.

stacieb

BOOOORING AS HELL is what I feel about doing ST by myself
Body pump is a party in a classroom! Well that is what I feel about most group ex! The music and moves makes the hour fly by and you have hit all major muscles! AND there are things I just dislike doing but being in the class "forces" me to do it and I feel sooooo much better after!

guaranteed everything arrives HERE WAY AFTER it arrives in other parts of the country.

its like that with EVERYTHING.

were not very progressive here, but ESPECIALLY when it comes to fitness.  not very fitness-minded/oriented region of the country.

there are segements of the population here that are healthy/health concious, but for the GREAT MAJORITY fitness is far from being a priority.

plan a visit and i'll show you.

im sure the statistics would bear that out, too.

but when i see how unhealthy people 'round here it motivates me even more to get my azz in gear and get that training and certification as a WELLNESS COACH.  theres people to help, lots of them!

It makes sense to me. Another thing is that it's not like the training was time wasted. You love being on your bike and would probably have worked up a ton of miles even without a race on your calendar. Your reasons for withdrawal are yours alone and I don't think you have anything to be sad about in regards to that.
