Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Story for Melindy. A couple of years ago I had been out shopping most of the day with my mom. I walked to the house and heard water pouring. I looked in the window of the basement and saw water pouring down. I went in the house and it was pouring though the ceiling of the first floor to the living room. I dashed upstairs to my bed room, it was pouring through the ceiling from the attic. A water line in the attic had ruptured (I know, weird place for water but our walls are made of ancient logs, you have to do funny things with electric, water and duct work). The DH was in a deposition for the town so he was out of range. I turned off the water and started the damage assessment and trying to move things and dry them. All of my clothes and dresser was totally soaked. Water sloshing in the drawers, closet as if it was hosed down. I was pretty calm and managing to move furniture, peel back the carpeting, move clothes etc etc. Then.... I saw my poor ancient teddy who was soaked and "bleeding". He is really worn and didn't look like he would make it. I cried like a baby. |

I'm being domestic and making a DEICIOUS bread pudding for tonight. I'll check back in a little bit! My Dad has been full time domestic since he was 40 when he retired from the military. He cooks, cleans, etc, etc. Haha. He likes it...he golfs 4-5x a week and makes supper and stuff. He has it really hard now. I would take that deal right now but skip the golf and just work out 5 hours a day!!!! Golf is my Dad "working out"...I give it to him because he always walks. During the summer he is normally outside gardening and yard work...he creates projects for himself...he built a pond...re-did the deck...made some random tree oasis thing...I don't think I've ever seen my Dad just "sit there". Haha I hope my kids can say the same thing - I hope you don't think I was busting on your dad - that is awesome! No. I know you wern't haha. I used to be really harsh to my Dad about the way he is with his ADD need to be doing something all the time thing--just overly mean sometimes because I always felt he just didn't get school and why I just wanted to "sit there" and be chill. But I have found a few things out in the past few years between his childhood and his time in Cyprus/Bosnia that have made me understand why he is the way he is and make me feel that he just can't "sit there". Now I just accept. Unless he tells me the "right" way to do dishes...then all bets are off. ![]() |

Great book so far. Looking forward to the next two once I've finished this one. Hope you feel better soon. You will like it! I am 1/2 way through the second one now. I am considering this series myself. Hmmm. |

Doesn't sound like much of a deal ![]() No, that wasn't what I just interviewed for. I sent my BFF the job description and she's pretty sure that's her old job. If I want that job she will hook me up directly through her company, I don't need to be a sub, making less money. I'm not sure I want it though. I would have big shoes to fill. |

That is my line to the household!! That used to be mine, too. Then I got smart. The "right" way to do the dishes is anyone other than me doing them. If I have to re-wash one or two, I am still the big winner. |

I would also have an advantage because if I did have questions about the job I could ask her and she would help me even though she'd no longer be on the contract. I'm still hoping for the govie job closer to home, but I haven't ruled this out yet, I'm just not going to do it as a sub. |

I've been told I'm cold and heartless because moving often somehow removed much of my sentimentality for many of my old things. Go with what works for you, though Neal might find it weird if he has to share the bed with it in Vegas. Just saying... |
