Yeah, see - it's the avatar thing again. I saw the CHEESE, and thought it was Pam. (Because she's the only one in our mentor group with that avatar.) And I couldn't figure out why she felt she was crashing the group.... THEN I realized that it wasn't Pam, it was Geoff. So, as you can see, the identical avatars definitely has been messing me up. OMG!!!  I can't believe I threw you off so bad!  This cheese thing is really turning out to be really crazy and I LOVE IT!!!  Emerson, have you figured it out yet?

Hey everyone.

 Just a quick checkin to say I'm hanging in there. Stef is going down hill. I've been told about the signs that her body is dying, and many (not all) are there. She's quite confused - maybe due to the meds or maybe due to cancer/dying hard to say. Last night I was on the phone so she tried to take her meds herself. She doubled up on her morphine. So we had a nurse at the house til 2:30 am. Now, i've taken all meds away from her, and put her meds in little containers for what she needs all day long. We set timers to remind me to give her meds every 2 hrs, but some are still "as needed" that I have to watch to make sure they aren't too close together. In my spare time is laundry, errands, etc. We do have someone who stays with her 2 hrs/day so I can get other things done, but I still can't get the outside stuff caught up. It's very tiring. I've gone beyond nurse. She's harder to care for than a small child because at least you can put them in a play pen. Whats sad is she sees what she's doing and it upsets her. But in trying to help, she usually creates more work instead of less.

I start the new job a week from tomorrow. My mother in law will live with us then so I can work and she can be with Stephanie. She was here this weekend and saw just how much there is to do. For the next 4 days we are alone, then more family coming in Thur nite.

Hope everything is great for you guys. I do think about you often. Julie, the pic of you, me and Stef in SF is on her digital picture frame, so I'm constantly reminded of you and my other BT friends.

I'm glad to see that everyone is hanging in there.  This is certainly a tough time for some members of our group and I am continually amazed by the hearts of our group members   Not much new with me except my big A race, my HIM, is in less than a week.  I know I have done everything I can to prepare and that it is all up what I did in the past to get me through along with all the good thoughts and images I can muster.

Everyone have a good week and I'll be checking in a bit more than normal because of the taper week

Hi Emerson...as far as no posting from me...I have been in Gods Country....I went to Colorado for a family reunion and then headed to Platora Colorado...and stayed at my cousins cabin at elevation 9800...was just a weeeeeee bit hard to breathe...but I did get in a few bike rides, runs, hikes, fishing, and horseback riding...will post pictures later this week.

Greg...I am going to go to Church daily for Stef...praying for a nice peaceful end to her beautiful life she shared with you and the kiddos. Good luck with your new job. I know you will knock them dead! You are an incredible person...make sure not to block people out...I am telling you this because I did this when I was diagnosed with my cancer. Realize that you need the help and when people offer...accept....wish I was closer I would offer!! but if there is anything at all I can do from afar...PLEASE do not hesitate to ask me! I have tons of time for you buddy!

Eric...hope your work is not too hectic. By the looks of your training log, you are staying busy and trying to keep up with the DW....what is your next race?

Pam...how is your job going? better?? I know you were not liking it much last time we chatted...I hope things have settled and you are now loving it! one can only hope!

Amy (San Diego) I have this sneaking suspicion that you are lurking about and want you to know that I am thinking about you! Mountains are tough to ride over. Especially BIG mountains, like those in the Pyrenees. Today is a rest day. As for the rest of the world: It's still turning. We missed you. Welcome back!

Thanks was a trip that I truly needed! Definitely ready to get back in the run/bike/swim training....the elevation was 9800 at my cousins cabin and this made it hard for me to get in my runs...I was able to bike a little but...no swimming - except in the tub/hot tub! does that count???

No... hot tubbing doesn't count... what gave you that crazy idea?  wait... unless chuck was involved
