Cancer sucks. I hope that your family does as well as possible in this difficult situation. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Take care. Yeah, see - it's the avatar thing again. I saw the CHEESE, and thought it was Pam. (Because she's the only one in our mentor group with that avatar.) And I couldn't figure out why she felt she was crashing the group.... THEN I realized that it wasn't Pam, it was Geoff. So, as you can see, the identical avatars definitely has been messing me up. P.S. Hi Geoff! |

Expert 706 Spring (Houston), TX | Subject: RE: medic0020's Group - CLOSED--BUSTIN AT THE SEAMS Hey everyone. Just a quick checkin to say I'm hanging in there. Stef is going down hill. I've been told about the signs that her body is dying, and many (not all) are there. She's quite confused - maybe due to the meds or maybe due to cancer/dying hard to say. Last night I was on the phone so she tried to take her meds herself. She doubled up on her morphine. So we had a nurse at the house til 2:30 am. Now, i've taken all meds away from her, and put her meds in little containers for what she needs all day long. We set timers to remind me to give her meds every 2 hrs, but some are still "as needed" that I have to watch to make sure they aren't too close together. In my spare time is laundry, errands, etc. We do have someone who stays with her 2 hrs/day so I can get other things done, but I still can't get the outside stuff caught up. It's very tiring. I've gone beyond nurse. She's harder to care for than a small child because at least you can put them in a play pen. Whats sad is she sees what she's doing and it upsets her. But in trying to help, she usually creates more work instead of less. I start the new job a week from tomorrow. My mother in law will live with us then so I can work and she can be with Stephanie. She was here this weekend and saw just how much there is to do. For the next 4 days we are alone, then more family coming in Thur nite. Hope everything is great for you guys. I do think about you often. Julie, the pic of you, me and Stef in SF is on her digital picture frame, so I'm constantly reminded of you and my other BT friends. Thanks everyone! Greg |

Master 1303 Mishicot, Wisconsin | Subject: RE: medic0020's Group - CLOSED--BUSTIN AT THE SEAMS Hi Everyone, I'm glad to see that everyone is hanging in there. This is certainly a tough time for some members of our group and I am continually amazed by the hearts of our group members Not much new with me except my big A race, my HIM, is in less than a week. I know I have done everything I can to prepare and that it is all up what I did in the past to get me through along with all the good thoughts and images I can muster. Everyone have a good week and I'll be checking in a bit more than normal because of the taper week |

Extreme Veteran 608 | Subject: RE: medic0020's Group - CLOSED--BUSTIN AT THE SEAMS I'm very glad to be a part of this group. It is not by chance that we are all together here, I believe that everything is by design. Greg-I wish that I had some way to comfort you , but I guess this is one of those terrible things in life you have to suffer through with Stef and the kids. I "will" continue to pray for your situation, life is so difficult for you right now...please hang on tight to your faith, God will give you strength to make it through. I have always felt it odd in times like these that a person feels more alive than ever...I guess it's because you are at the hight of your hearts pain threshold. We are praying for your strength Greg. Amy |

Champion 7546 Santa Cruz, California | Subject: RE: medic0020's Group - CLOSED--BUSTIN AT THE SEAMS mman - 2008-07-06 11:26 AM double post. also in depression thread but still very sincere: Hey everyone. Just a quick update and asking for thoughts, prayers, vibes, whatever. I brought my wife to the ER on Friday. They admitted her to the hospital and ran tests. The cancer has taken over, despite being on chemo. they are stopping treatment and sending her to hospice. we don't know if she has 2 days or 2 months, but its not long. the doctor said she might make it 2 months but that was being very generous. my gut says 1-2 weeks. she told me on Thursday that she thought she was dying. She never complains and said her fatigue is a 10 and pain is a 7 (on a scale of 1-10, 10 being worst). they are hoping I can take her home 1 more time but no guarantees. she wants to die in a hospice or hospital - not at home. yesterday (when we found out) i had meltdown, but regained composure pretty quickly. now i'm numb. i stayed with friends near the hospital last night. my kids are with other friends. i haven't told them yet. we are waiting to talk to a social worker and our pastor today for advice (just me or both of us, neutral location, etc.). lots of hard days ahead. the support that i receive through bt has been phenomenal. thank you! Greg...my heart goes out to you! I am at a loss for words...and that doesn't happen often! I can only imagine what you must be going thru! take care and PLLLLLEEEEEASSSSE let us know if we can do anything....ALL MY LOVE....Jules |

I ran today and thought I was running in a Pizza Oven. Pam, how is your work coming? I hope the wet suit fits! Also, what is with the cheese? Eric, thanks for the inspires, you are good to still mentor us LONG after your term should be up. Amy M., looking forward to meeting you at IMKY. A bunch of other BT folks will be there. I plan to do a duathlon in Buck Creek the weekend before. Think about it??? Julie, I have not seen one of your happy posts since 6/30, I hope you are OK... Dee, over 10,000 posts.... you are amazing. How is the Tour going. I assume it must be on cable. I will look for it tonight. Greg, in my prayers... you take care of yourself. That is the most important and keep up posted. I know you will knock them dead! You are an incredible person...make sure not to block people out...I am telling you this because I did this when I was diagnosed with my cancer. Realize that you need the help and when people offer...accept....wish I was closer I would offer!! but if there is anything at all I can do from afar...PLEASE do not hesitate to ask me! I have tons of time for you buddy!
