Offthegrid - 2008-10-20 9:18 AM I tried doing a flip turn and nearly drowned. Never could do flip turns. My goal is by my tri in June that I want to be regularly doing flip turns. I think I just need more time in the water. I get out of breath when trying to do a turn.
Don't drown. Then we might lose the challenge and Mila will come haunt you in the afterlife, like a reverse ghost or something. I don't think you want that.

Exactly.  I have mad skillz like that.

LOL, yup, skillz!!!

No chai tea?  Ohhhhhh... yummmmers.  I'm sure it would taste good with some sort of booze in it but I can't decide what.  I'll research that.

eurydice79 - 2008-10-19 12:16 AM Actually I've been meaning to make some pumpkin pie - I know in America its really popular. At our local supermarket they've started stocking canned pumpkin filling for a pie, and its sitting in my cupboard ready for me to use it. One of these days I'll make one
We have pumpkin everything here for Halloween. Ice cream, coffee, cheesecake, anything you can imagine. I LOVE PUMPKIN PIE!!! Seriously. It's so good. Being gluten-free, though, I now make it without a crust. I just make it the normal way, and it is easy to slice it up and eat it. Yum, yum, yum.

Pumpkin COFFEE???? How on earth do you make that???

A little pumpkin spice flavored syrup courtesy of Starbucks, mayhaps?  I don't make my own pumpkin coffee but I can tell you that pumpkin spice lattes at Starbucks taste pretty yummy .

Mmm-hmm, I second that. Yum.

Though my absolute utter fave is just about to come out - peppermint mocha and peppermint hot chocolate. Christmas was never so good until these became mainstream. Oh yes, God loves me and shows me this through peppermint hot chocolate.

Yes, I do believe research is in order. Caramel Bailey's? Spiced rum? Something smooth to compliment the spice. Perhaps our cabana boy can make some suggestions?

ebshot - 2008-10-21 1:42 AM Tried to run this morning.  Didn't go well.   I made it a mile and was having issues.  I was all pukey.  I walked for a bit but it didn't get any better.  So, I went home.  I think I got over heated.  I don't do well when I get too hot.  I was wearing my cold weather long sleeved shirt to run on the treadmill.  Duh!  Oh well.  I'll make up for it tomorrow!  I promise!

Ugh! I hope you're feeling better now

Slugger - 2008-10-21 2:23 PM Oh, speaking of pumpkins this time, we tried something new this fall: sweet canned/pickled pumpkin. It is really pretty, kind of a yellow with a tint of orange. It has sugar and cinnamon. I'm thinking of doing a chutney with some of it, like a sweet mango chutney, maybe over pork loins or roast. I also think it would make a fabulous fruity bread, maybe a hearty white with the chunks of pumpkin folded in. Or maybe something like cinnamon raisin bread with the pumpkin chunks instead of raisins. I'll let you know how it goes!

Wow, you americans sure know how to do a lot of things with pumpkin! I normally just roast it or make it into soup. Looks like I am way behind the 8 ball! All those things sound really yummy. Its just so damn hard to peel!!!

Eh, IM(not very)HO, Starbucks is overrated. All the chain coffee shops are. I went through the Starbucks-is-God phase, done with that now. It's a nice treat, but no biggie. I don't have any around where I live, either (mountains don't generally come with chain coffee shops...), so it's for the best, I suppose.

But I do love me some peppermint hot chocolate...

Howdy, everyone. I put a reminder in the spreadsheet, but I'll post it here, too.

The week ending totals are cumulative! If you did one session week 1 and three sessions week 2, your total should read four sessions!

I noticed that it looks like some people didn't get that, as their numbers go down.

The month is 67% over - how are you doing?

Well, signing off for the night. Hoping I can talk my sleep-deprived climbing partner into a quick climb this morning, if her night was as quiet as mine (doubtful - she was doing 911 calls). Joe, you need to get out here so that I have a regular shirtless piece of eye-candy climbing partner!

Ta!

I'm right there with you.  Hi, my name is Erica and I am addicted to coffee.  My morning is not complete without my coffee in my hand.  I love it and must have it!

Tomorrow is parent/teacher conferences and I'm thinking I'll bring Starbucks to butter up the teachers!  I think the Pumpkin Spice Latte is in order.  With Nonfat milk of course!
