| Uxbridge | Subject: RE: Come and play with aquagirl and mav ! CLOSED Glad you came to join our little group Jesse!!!! You can do it! I am going to suggest that you sign up for a sprint tri this summer(early) and an oly in late summer. It will keep you motivated and you are less likely to skip workouts!!!! Tell your family too. If you tell them, they will support you and then...there is no turning back | |

| Master 1690 Metro NY Area | Subject: RE: Come and play with aquagirl and mav ! CLOSED I just looked at the spreadsheet, it has swim, bike and run. Do we fill them all in or just bike? Bopper - 2010-03-15 10:54 AM The challenge is not mandatory... but we're hoping the challenge amongst ourselves will get people pumped and back on the bike. Ok girls and boys... I have created a spreadsheet for this little challenge. Click on this link to open it and enter your numbers for each day. http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=thyBmS3U9sYsXmyyY2k9_Nw Username: [email protected] I have everyones names in the spreadsheet... that doesn't mean you have to do the challenge though. If you're not interested, just ignore this post. Any one who is interested, just log your biking minutes in the spreadsheet... all totals are calculated. Just ignore the swim and run numbers... they won't get added into the totals. Have fun biking... and be safe on the roads if you're riding outside already. | |

Probably in the morning I will want to bawl my eyes out at the prospect of riding home after staying up all night though........... |

| Extreme Veteran 396 | Subject: RE: Come and play with aquagirl and mav ! CLOSED My plan told me to ride 20 miles today, so I did.  Ugh!!! It was cold and windy.  At one point I could only go 11 MPH.  Toes were frozen only after 5 miles with wool socks.  I vowed not to put the bike back on the trainer, I hope the forecast changes for the weekend.  It's suppose to snow again. On a positive note it gave me more minutes for the challenge Happy Riding!! | |

CLOSED I have a question for you guys.  I don't have a bike and really know absolutely nothing about them, I found one on Kijiji and was wondering what you guys think - is it ok or a rip-off?  Could I buy something comparabe & new at this price? Btw, I'm 5'5, and I think that the bike might fit me. Tell me what you think of it: Trek 2200 WSD Road Bike Bike is in excellent condition and has been rarely used! Seller has used it for one triathlon, very limited training and race mileage on it. Specifically designed for women so is comfortable to ride. Frame - 51cm Alpha SL Aluminum Fork - Bontrager Race, OCLV Carbon Wheels - Bontrager Select - Paired spoke technology Drivetrain - Shimano 105 / Ultegra Pedals - Shimano Clipless Cost: $900.00 CDN Thanks in advance!! |

Should be pretty close unless you have very long legs. I'm not sure about canadian conversion now. If it looks very clean seems good. tryin2tri - 2010-03-15 9:11 PM I have a question for you guys. | Veteran 120 Polar Bear Alley | Subject: RE: Come and play with aquagirl and mav ! CLOSED Thanks for the info everyone, I'm thinking if I can get them down to $800 then I'll go for it.  I sent an e-mail so hopefully they'll respond (if the bike is still available).  My LBS is also holding a 20% off last year stock sale so I'm checking that out on Saturday.  If I get the bike, I'll take it to my LBS and get them to fit it to me, get some aero bars, drink holders, cadence meter, bike shoes & last but not least brain bucket (might have to use the latter for spin class too lol).   Went swimming today, was late so only got 35min. in but tried the TI technique. I think I've always used my arms in that way but I'm having a really difficult time getting the kick and body rotation down, I actually hardly kick at all when I swim. Also, I really have to learn to breathe to both sides!! I always breathe to my right side and today when attempting my left side breathe I kept sucking water in. Definitely concentrated more on keeping my left elbow high, I have a tendancy to drop it. But, from when I first hopped into the pool a week ago until today I already see marked improvement. I was so out of breath in 25m and today I was able to find a rhythm so I think that's what made it feel effortless. Makes me want to swim tomorrow just to see how it goes. Am ordering a lap counter (Sport Count 90010) right after my post - I was totally annoyed that I lost count of my laps today and had no time to restart. I need to figure out my lap times as they ask that in questionaires for Sprint starts. Also, even though I have sprints listed in my signature I haven't actually entered myself into any yet. Well today I purchased my Alberta Triathlon Membership and officially entered myself into my first sprint! I'm waayyy too cheap to not follow through on an $85 race so I'd say it's pretty solid. Tomorrow I'm going to go ahead and enter in the rest of them, I held off because they seemed a bit close together but if I over-train then it shouldn't be too bad. I really want the OLY in there (OWS), the lake is NASTY I heard, and you risk Beaver Fever in most Alberta lakes, and they have leeches in our lakes (Ewwwww), but it's gotta be done sometime. Also joined the Edmonton Triathlon Club and my first meeting is Mar 26/10. Also entered myself into a camp, which is 2 weeks before my first sprint so I'm psyched about that - and totally nervous lol. So yeah, things are flowing smoothly here, just the way I had hoped they would the first time I tried this. Oh yeah, AND my fiance is coming home Wed. So all is good - so far. | |

He's incredible in his stats and his knowledge, when announcing my sister at the finish of her 1st IM he went through her entire tri history as well as mine...it's crazy how much he knows. Plus he's an amazing athlete. |
