you and me both - it's supposed to rain tomorrow

I run again on Wednesday...it may be at the gym or fitness center

I'm going to get it in at lunch time tomorrow, thankfully we have a workout room and nice showers at work

The fitness center in my office only has 2 treadmills but the building up the street has about 6 of them.

I need to figure out what my plan should be

I've pretty much decided that after losing last week + a few days, doing a 1/2 mary the Sunday before Thanksgiving would be stoopid

I'm not particularly interested in doing the 8k distance, I'm just not fast enough to be competitive and the distance isn't long enough to be a challenge

hmmmmmm, what to do?

so, tell me more about compression socks....I must have missed that conversation

I bought compression socks back in early September when i was cleared to run again after 5.5 weeks off. I've had some lower leg issues in the past, including a tibial stress fracture and I knew I'd be ramping the mileage up quickly so I figured they couldn't hurt.

Long story short, I love them! I haven't run or raced without them since and I've had very little lower leg pain and swelling. Even after my 15, 18 and 20 milers. Some people swear they are BS, but why would the medical industry use compression if it doesn't work? Some people think they make you look stupid. I don't care. I just want to enjoy running and not break my legs

There is a 10K in NY on Dec 7 and a 15K on the 20th if you feel like running in the Big Apple Neither are anything crazy special though, just regular races. I'm definitely doing the 10K but will likely be out of town for the 15. I've done that one before and love it. They serve hot chocolate

EDIT: I hit an even 1300 with this post!

We have access to a gym across the road but the showers are so revolting I just cant convince myself to go...

Especially since therre is NO airconditioning in the gym so its a big hot stinky sauna in summer... its actually cooler outside!

One thing I am totally doing on my trip is going for a run in central park... yes lame but sounds so exciting to me... even if its more run 10 seconds... walk 10 minutes

Then again that would require the packing of gym gear and running shoes...

I'm absolutely bummed that I didn't get to do my Central Park run when I was in NYC.  Guess I'll have to try and fit it in the next time I go.
